We have ordered from Mistral several times and it’s always been a great experience. We continue to order the tomato basil soup because it’s absolutely wonderful, perfect for a cold winter day and the sandwiches were a perfect addition! The creamy tarragon chicken with rice and julienne vegetables is balanced, well seasoned and delicious! I will definitely order that again. Mistral is now on our “best of” for takeout 🙂

Phenomenal new take out restaurant in West Chester! We ordered a Valentine’s Day meal and were absolutely delighted by the flavor and quality. We particularly enjoyed the mushroom soup and the fish chowder. Entrees were also excellent and generously portioned. The profiterole was the perfect end to this exceptional meal. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu – truly a new-found gem in the Boro!

Holy smokes! This place is “out of this world,” according to my wife, who’s a highly CRITICAL (but also VERY LOVELY … ) food connoisseur! Easily a 10/10 from the both of us. The owners are not only highly skilled at what they do in the kitchen, but also super friendly, down to earth, genuinely lovely people. Glad I decided to order for pick up. Please hook these fine folks up with business because they honestly deserve it. Btw, here’s what we just devoured:
1) Mushroom bisque (best bisque we’ve ever had, hands down)
2) French Onion soup ( yup )
3) Coq au vin (entrée)
4) Tarragon Chicken (entrée) &
5) Jambon with butter on a crispy, warm, FRESHLY baked baguette .
Let me reiterate that this place is an easy 12 out of 10 (yup, I said 12) French Restaurant tucked away in a secret basement somewhere on Darlington & Minor Street (hint) right-smack-in-the-middle of my charming hometown of West Chester, Pa.
Not gonna lie, took me a minute (or 10) to find it . Seriously though, check these guys out and tell all your friends too.
Much love ❤️ & respect ,
Ralph & his very lovely wife, Gosia

French onion soup was one of the best I’ve had! The Tarragon Chicken was heavenly too. We ordered the Jamon, the Provencial, the Tarragon chicken and a French onion and everything was incredible. Served super fresh and hot, and cooked to perfection. Portion sizes are generous too. Highly recommend!!

I’ve ordered here a few times now. I really enjoy the menu. It’s mostly French classics and new global specials which highlight cuisines around the french colonies(great concept)
Prices are on par with most restaurants in town, and the portion sizes are good.
For me, I generally would like a bit more spice, seasonings, and maybe some more sauces on dishes, but I think they do a decent enough job. Especially considering French cuisine is not heavy on the spice.
All in all. The people are great. Food is awesome. And I will definitely be ordering here again and again.

I ordered the “Picnic in the Park” lunch special, which is a cup of soup and half sandwich. The She-crab soup with sherry bisque was delicious. It was topped with roe and chives, an extra touch which you won’t often find. The sandwich came on a warm baguette filled with a very generous pile of Parisienne ham. I would highly recommend the place if you are looking for something other than the same-old fare.

Delicious food, great service. Their She-Crab soup is the stuff of legend, but also try their delicious baguette sandwiches that brought me back to student days in Paris. The beef dishes are full of flavor, and I’m plotting how to get another slice of the chocolate cake soon. A little slice of France in West Chester!

If you’re looking for an excellent French meal, Mistral is a must-try. Their food is excellent, and I really enjoyed everything I ordered! The classic chicken stew and the flavorful ratatouille were fantastic, and even the soups and salads were spot-on. What made it even better is that the delivery was super fast and the prices are great for this kind of quality.

The food was very good, as were the size of the portions. “La soupe aux lentilles” was, humm, delicious. My sandwich was good it was made with crunchy bread. The people working there seems friendly. I will definitely go back to Mistral.

Incredible food made by great people. Had the tapenade sandwich, ratatouille, soup du jour, and some of their award winning toffee— all delicious. Highly recommend this hidden gem right in the heart of West Chester.
