This was our first time at Shallow Waters restaurant in Stevens Point, WI. We went specifically for the fish fry and were not disappointed. We both had Walleye. It was the biggest piece of fish we ever had and fried with a light crunchy batter and cooked to perfection. Extremely moist. The fries were golden brown and the Cole slaw delicious. The service was excellent and the tables nicely spaced apart for more of an open feel.

The manager of the business was working behind the bar and she made THE BEST chocolate martini to touch my taste buds. She was very friendly and recommended amazing choices to us when we asked. The food was cooked to perfection and I have to say that the tomato basil bruschetta, smoked salmon rangoons, and garlic and seafood pasta was mouthwatering and succulent. For the area, it’s a breath of fresh air with the delightful food and service they cater. All the ingredients are seasonally paired and very deliberate. I could not recommend this place more and the manager made my visit so much better. She is a powerful woman of knowledge and you could walk in without a clue of the menu or drinks and she will educate you on the world of hospitality. I will be coming back to this restaurant just to visit the manager again because she made my experience that much better.

Greatly improved. Food was good with a higher end quality dining atmosphere. Not your typical bar food, for those who may be coming off a boat on their accessible dock to the Wisconsin river. Only downside is no kids menu or options for a little more simplistic dining. The drinks were top-notch. Great stop for good food at a decent price.

Ate at Shallow Waters today for the first time, and wow what a great experience!
We started with the potato cheese curds, and they were absolutely awesome. I also tried the potato soup, and it was unlike any I’ve had before… different in the best way. Really delicious.
For entrées, we had the Rib Eye and the Seafood Pasta — both were fantastic. I really like how they put a unique twist on many of their dishes. It sets them apart.
And to top it all off, we had the bread pudding, which was nothing short of stunning.
I’ve always said you can judge a restaurant by its bathrooms — and theirs were some of the cleanest I’ve seen in a long time. That says a lot about the place.
Definitely a great first visit. I’ll be back!

This place is absolutely adorable. Love love love the atmosphere. Very cozy. Even the bathrooms were welcoming. The service was excellent, everyone was very friendly. Went for Friday fish. Started with the salmon Rangoon appetizer, HIGHLY recommend, best rangoons ever!!! For the price of each dish, I felt that the sides were definitely a little lackluster, wish there would have been
another potato option &/or another veggie…didn’t care much for the curry coleslaw, and the roll wasn’t anything special, HOWEVER, the stars of the show, the (baked) walleye and (sauteed) shrimp were fantastic and left us wanting to come back to try other menu options. Was informed that Sat evenings they have a live pianist and prime rib…can’t wait to come in for those!

It is a genuinely classy establishment that strikes the ideal balance between sophistication and a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere. The decor is tasteful, the lighting is just right, and the general vibe makes it suitable for a special occasion or simply treating yourself to something nice.
The food at Shallow Waters is fantastic. The menu offers great options, and everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It’s clear the kitchen takes pride in its execution.
But the real highlight that makes this restaurant exceptional is the service. The staff are attentive, professional, and genuinely warm. They anticipate needs without hovering and contribute significantly to the overall positive experience. The team here understands hospitality on a deep level. ABSOLUTELY MUST TRY!!! GO NOW!
