I really want this place to make it but they need to pay attention. Had some interesting items on their menu to try. The grits had good taste but were cold and way too thick. The ice tea tasted like mold so it was clear the spigot on their dispenser needed cleaning. We brought it to their attention and they said they would check it out. The biscuits were great. Unfortunately they didn’t heat them up when we ordered so the biscuit sandwich and biscuit on the plate were cold. When adding egg and meat to the biscuit, it didn’t help, just made it all cold. Portions were good sized. When we asked for butter we got one little container for a big biscuit and it had hardly any butter in it and it was so cold it was rock hard. Cold room, cold food. Also noticed the room next to the dining room was totally disarray. Clean it up, no one needs to see that. They have the opportunity to be successful but need to make some changes. Do better and you can do well in that location.

We tried Three Heifers for the Sunday morning buffet. It’s quiet & not nearly as busy as we expected. All you can eat for $15, including a drink. They refilled the bar with all fresh food & refilled our coffee many times. Great service & fresh food! We love that they played county music in the dining room, it made for a super cozy Sunday morning breakfast experience! Truly this place feels like a Sunday breakfast at your grandmas.
We love supporting local businesses, please come out and give your business to a local family & skip the Waffle House.

The only “complaint” is that the plates & cups weren’t super clean, there was visible leftovers on them, but I just grabbed a fresh one. No biggie!

We were in town for Thanksgiving and decided to give this place a try for Thanksgiving. It was absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh, scrumptious, mouthwatering. The employees treated us like family, it made for a wonderful day. The ham must of had crack in it, because it was the best ham we have ever tasted. When I saw the dumplings, I knew my Mama was smiling from Heaven. Chocolate dipped strawberries and turkey strawberries with pretzel legs all dipped in chocolate were so good, they melted in your mouth. We missed out on the peppermint brownies, I bet they were delicious, but brought home a piece of chocolate cake that topped off our Thanksgiving night. Thank you so much for making our Thanksgiving dinner such a delight. We feel blessed to have visited your restaurant.

I was beat so I called up and got a couple of to go plates for dinner Thursday evening.

I decided on the country fried steak with gravy, mashed potatoes, and fried okra, and Christi had the Shepherd’s Pie with onion rings and fried okra. We shared some jalapeno poppers for an appetizer. Well, paint me green and call me a pickle because the food was amazing.

Also, shout out to the young ladies that took my order and payment who were patient and served up the order with smiles. Christi and I will be back again.

My fiancé and I went to Three Heifers and a Hotplate for Valentine’s Day after seeing their special menu advertised on Facebook. It included a salad bar, appetizer, two entrées with two sides, and two desserts. We were excited to try somewhere new, but unfortunately, the entire experience was disappointing from start to finish.
As soon as we walked in, we were immediately hit with a very strong odor of cigarettes. It was overwhelming and made me debate walking out right then, but we decided to stick it out and give them a chance.
Service was unorganized and confusing. When we asked about the salad bar (which the menu clearly stated was included for two), the waiter responded, “Oh, you want me to add the salad bar too?” We had to point out that it was already included. When we went up to the salad bar, there were no dressings at all. We asked about it, and were told they would have to put some out. When they finally did, the ranch and blue cheese bottles were empty. You would think that on Valentine’s Day — especially advertising a special menu — basic things like salad dressing would already be prepared and stocked.
The food only got worse. My fiancé ordered the 8oz sirloin with broccoli and a baked potato. The broccoli was cold, mushy, and literally had the consistency of baby food. I took a picture of his plate because it was that bad. The sirloin tasted overly sweet, almost like it had been heavily seasoned with A1 sauce. The baked potato came out completely plain — no butter, no toppings, nothing. He barely touched his food.
I ordered pasta salad, tilapia, and French fries. The pasta salad had absolutely no flavor — boxed pasta salad tastes better. The tilapia looked burned and tasted burned. The French fries were cold. At that point, we were so disappointed and ready to leave that we asked for our desserts to go. I opened the box later but honestly wasn’t even interested in trying it after everything else.
To make the experience even more uncomfortable, the waitress had her small children running around the restaurant throughout the night — going in and out of the kitchen area and grabbing things. It was unpleasant and unprofessional.
The entire time I kept looking around for Gordon Ramsay because I genuinely felt like we had to be on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares. I truly don’t understand how this place is still open.
This was easily the worst $60 we have ever spent. On the drive home, my fiancé said this would be a Valentine’s Day we will never forget — because of how bad it was. We could have cooked a much better meal at home and honestly wish we had.
We will not be returning and will absolutely not be recommending this place to anyone. People deserve to know what they’re walking into.

Great food all around. We had chicken livers, chicken tenders, and wings. The cowpoke sandwich was huge. Fries, onion rings, and corn nuggets were great! Very generous portions.

We tried Three Heifers and a Hot Plate for breakfast after seeing great reviews. The service was friendly, and we were seated right away. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the hype. The seasonal banana pudding poundcake lacked banana flavor, the hash browns were soft instead of crispy, and the eggs were bland—even with cheese and pepper. Portion sizes were good for the price (my meal was $10 with coffee), but overall the flavors were lacking. Might be better for lunch, but we won’t be back for breakfast.

Took about 30 minutes to get our food. 20 minutes in for them to come ask us what we wanted in place of mashed potatoes, that they didn’t have any. Worked in restaurants all my life and I could very easily tell that grease needed changing. Pic of the onion rings

Local Treasure in the Making: In a small town where dining options are few and far between, it’s a real treat to have a new local restaurant open its doors. It may not be perfect, but it’s a promising and much-welcomed addition to the community. The atmosphere is warm and friendly—just what you’d hope for in a rural hometown spot—and the staff makes you feel right at home.

The breakfast was solid, with standout highlights like the bacon and sausage, both clearly a cut above the usual. High-quality, flavorful, and cooked just right. The biscuit was soft, buttery, and downright delicious, and the toast, Texas type, had a nice, homey touch that makes you think their BLT would probably be something special with the hearty bacon—something I’ll be sure to try next time.

It’s not the fanciest place, but that’s not the goal. It’s local, it’s friendly, and it’s already showing heart. With a few tweaks and a continued focus on quality over volume, this spot could easily become a staple in town. Definitely worth a visit—and worth rooting for.
