We love supporting local businesses, please come out and give your business to a local family & skip the Waffle House.
The only “complaint” is that the plates & cups weren’t super clean, there was visible leftovers on them, but I just grabbed a fresh one. No biggie!
I decided on the country fried steak with gravy, mashed potatoes, and fried okra, and Christi had the Shepherd’s Pie with onion rings and fried okra. We shared some jalapeno poppers for an appetizer. Well, paint me green and call me a pickle because the food was amazing.
Also, shout out to the young ladies that took my order and payment who were patient and served up the order with smiles. Christi and I will be back again.
As soon as we walked in, we were immediately hit with a very strong odor of cigarettes. It was overwhelming and made me debate walking out right then, but we decided to stick it out and give them a chance.
Service was unorganized and confusing. When we asked about the salad bar (which the menu clearly stated was included for two), the waiter responded, “Oh, you want me to add the salad bar too?” We had to point out that it was already included. When we went up to the salad bar, there were no dressings at all. We asked about it, and were told they would have to put some out. When they finally did, the ranch and blue cheese bottles were empty. You would think that on Valentine’s Day — especially advertising a special menu — basic things like salad dressing would already be prepared and stocked.
The food only got worse. My fiancé ordered the 8oz sirloin with broccoli and a baked potato. The broccoli was cold, mushy, and literally had the consistency of baby food. I took a picture of his plate because it was that bad. The sirloin tasted overly sweet, almost like it had been heavily seasoned with A1 sauce. The baked potato came out completely plain — no butter, no toppings, nothing. He barely touched his food.
I ordered pasta salad, tilapia, and French fries. The pasta salad had absolutely no flavor — boxed pasta salad tastes better. The tilapia looked burned and tasted burned. The French fries were cold. At that point, we were so disappointed and ready to leave that we asked for our desserts to go. I opened the box later but honestly wasn’t even interested in trying it after everything else.
To make the experience even more uncomfortable, the waitress had her small children running around the restaurant throughout the night — going in and out of the kitchen area and grabbing things. It was unpleasant and unprofessional.
The entire time I kept looking around for Gordon Ramsay because I genuinely felt like we had to be on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares. I truly don’t understand how this place is still open.
This was easily the worst $60 we have ever spent. On the drive home, my fiancé said this would be a Valentine’s Day we will never forget — because of how bad it was. We could have cooked a much better meal at home and honestly wish we had.
We will not be returning and will absolutely not be recommending this place to anyone. People deserve to know what they’re walking into.
The breakfast was solid, with standout highlights like the bacon and sausage, both clearly a cut above the usual. High-quality, flavorful, and cooked just right. The biscuit was soft, buttery, and downright delicious, and the toast, Texas type, had a nice, homey touch that makes you think their BLT would probably be something special with the hearty bacon—something I’ll be sure to try next time.
It’s not the fanciest place, but that’s not the goal. It’s local, it’s friendly, and it’s already showing heart. With a few tweaks and a continued focus on quality over volume, this spot could easily become a staple in town. Definitely worth a visit—and worth rooting for.
