I recently ordered biryani from E Cake Walk, and it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with this dish. The biryani tasted extremely oily, as if it was made using leftover oil from preparing snacks like samosas or punugulu. It was unpleasant and felt unhealthy to eat. The biryani also lacked proper masala flavor and tasted bland. Unfortunately, most of their snacks also seem to be prepared in stale oil, which is quite concerning from a health standpoint. I would strongly advise others to avoid this place until they improve their food quality and hygiene standards.

We were looking for a decent Indian restaurant for a quick lunch and decided to try this place — the name is quite catchy and gave us high hopes. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the most disappointing Indian restaurant experience we’ve had in NJ so far. Almost every dish fell short of expectations.
It’s a self-service restaurant where you order at the counter. We tried the masala chai, mango lassi, aloo tikki burger, Schezwan vada pav, and pav bhaji.
The Schezwan vada pav had very dry, crumbly pav, and the overall flavor was quite ordinary. The pav bhaji was even more disappointing — the pav was cold and had green chutney spread on it (which seemed like leftover preparation from a vada pav). The bhaji lacked both color and flavor; it tasted like plain mashed potato curry rather than authentic pav bhaji. It was also served in an open plastic to-go container, which made us unsure whether it had been reheated in the same container.
The aloo tikki burger was average in taste, but the patty was nearly half the size of the bun, which made it feel poorly assembled and unsatisfying.
Finally, the masala chai was clearly made with milk powder and tasted unpleasant. For the first time ever, my husband couldn’t finish his chai and had to throw most of it away.
The only item we found acceptable was the mango lassi — that’s the one star.
Overall, this place really needs to improve its preparation, flavor, quality, and presentation. Based on our experience, we wouldn’t return, and it unfortunately ruined what we had hoped would be a nice Saturday lunch outing.

Each bite took us straight back to childhood in India, where these bite-sized treats were a weekend delight. Don’t let the name fool you—this spot is more than just a bakery! It’s a fantastic eatery with a variety of chaat, tiffins, and snacks to choose from. We especially loved the onion rava masala dosa and the Telugu specialties like punugulu and mirchi bajji. The prices are budget-friendly, and they even have a happy hour for select snacks between 3-8 PM.
The restaurant has a few tables for dining in, and while it’s not an upscale spot, it’s well-maintained, clean, and inviting. The staff is warm, friendly, and always up for a chat, making the experience even better. We’ll definitely be back to try more from their menu!
