Outstanding food, great service and atmosphere. We especially loved the crispy pork, but the string bean stir fry with chicken and the Thom ka soup with shrimp were really good too. I could not stop thinking and talking about this meal all day.

I think I’ve found my new go-to Thai spot in San Jose. Tarah Thai Kitchen is a total gem!
I came in specifically craving comfort food, and their Tom Kha Soup delivered 100%. It’s honestly one of the best versions I’ve had in the Bay Area—perfectly creamy coconut base, but still light and citrusy from the lemongrass and lime. You can tell they use fresh galangal and herbs because the flavor is so layered and authentic.
A few things that made the visit great:
* The Service: Super attentive and genuinely welcoming. I felt well-taken care of from the moment I walked in.
* The Atmosphere: It’s clean, cozy, and has a really lovely local feel.
* The Quality: Everything tasted fresh and made-to-order, not like it had been sitting in a pot all day.
If you’re a fan of Tom Kha or just want a solid, authentic Thai meal, do yourself a favor and check this place out. I’ll definitely be back to work my way through the rest of the menu!

This cozy place serves comfort food with a smile. The service is great, we were made to feel so welcome! The chicken wings were extra crispy, and delightfully spicy. The chicken fried rice was moist but not mushy, and the roti was light and savory. The Tom yum soup was steaming with sour and spicy notes ( definitely helped to combat my cold)! The exposed brick interior adds to the warmth of the place.

– Pad Thai: Super tasty Pad Thai. Perfectly cooked. Wish they add more veggies and tofu. Decent portion size.
– Green Curry (Veggies & Tofu) with Rice: Loved this curry! The coconut flavor is very strong (in a nice way!). Rice was average though, didn’t taste fresh.
Overall, a great restaurant. You won’t be disappointed!

The green curry was nice but lacking eggplant. We did enjoy the roti panang curry as well although it had very little curry sauce (only a tiny dipping to-go container). The staff was courteous. Our main disappointment is that the portions are quite small for the price (perhaps we’re simply shocked by the contemporary Willow Glen price tag).

Very cozy Thai food restaurant, the pad thai was delicious along with the stir fried chicken and rice with cashews was was flavorful and balanced. Will be trying the panang curry next time! Very limited seating, so it gets pack quickly!

Quick and friendly service. Small but cozy dining room. Big Thai teas, really good tofu Thai basil dish and tasty curry. And we ordered enough to have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. So very happy we found this new Thai spot here in Willow Glen.
