The poke was UNREAL! I told my friend, “I haven’t had poke this good since I was in Hawaii,” and she mentioned that the menu says their fish is flown in from Hawaii (fresh, never frozen)I knew my taste buds would never lie lol you can taste the quality and the love put into their food! I see people complaining about the prices but the quality is there, TRUST!

We had the Spicy Kilauea poke and the freshie poke as well as the pork Kimchi musubi and kimchi cucumber

We’ve been hearing about Side of Aloha from friends (Lani specifically) and tried it tonight. The food was amazing everything we tried was above expectations! We ate ‘family style’ and Furikake fries, tempura shrimp, sweet steak, Furikake chicken, and crack mac were all delish! Even ordered the smash burger off the secret menu which they cut to make it a shareable. Will definitely be back!

This spot perfectly captures the spirit of Aloha. The quality of ingredients is evident, from the fresh-tasting fish to the well-marinated, tender grilled beef. Notable menu highlights include a ‘different’ but delicious take on Spam musubi and a standout grilled garlic miso with a refreshing citrus note. With attentive service and a welcoming ambiance, it’s a solid choice for anyone seeking authentic flavors and a great vibe.

I had the joy of dining at Side of Aloha tonight and every bite was better than the last. The food was unbelievably good and I loved the atmosphere. The service was quick and attentive and I wish I lived in the area because I would eat here all the time if I could. The owners are both Hawaiian and you can tell how much love and care they have put into this restaurant. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m visiting the SLC area.

REAL HAWAIIN BBQ!!!!! The best in UTAH!!!!!!!

All the meats have no hormones, the quality of food and flavors…there is no one close. The owners are from the mainland of Hawaii. This is better than most places in Hawaii. You want your money’s worth? Come here! Hidden gem!!!!

We used to go to the old Side of Aloha in Draper and really enjoyed it, so we were excited to check out their new location. The big surprise was that everything is now served family style.

We ordered a poke bowl and the chicken dish. The poke bowls don’t come with rice anymore, you have to buy it separately, which just feels strange. Same with fries, at the old location, dishes included them, but now they’re sold on the side.

The food itself was fine, but the pricing and setup just didn’t feel worth it compared to what they offered before.

Sem knows what they’re doing when it comes to running a lunch service. I walked in expecting decent food and got exactly that – no complaints whatsoever. The staff here clearly takes their job seriously, which shows in how smoothly everything runs. You can tell when people care about their work, and that was obvious today. I didn’t have to wait around or deal with any issues. Sem made sure I had what I needed without being pushy about it. That’s the kind of service that keeps people coming back. When you find a place where the staff actually pays attention to details, you stick with it. I’ll be returning for sure.

I ordered to go, and was surprised that everything was priced separately, the chicken was good but it was $16 for JUST the chicken. ONE scoop of rice cost me $2 which should definitely be included with at least the protein. The portions are small and do not really fit the claim of being enough for family style. The food itself was good, the atmosphere was cute and felt more upscale compared to the Draper location, and the staff was friendly, but for me $25 per person doesn’t really feel worth it compared to the old setup.

So excited that Side of Aloha has a new location! Hands down the best, most authentic, and freshest Hawaiian food in Utah. Every dish was bursting with flavor and quality.

The new space is beautiful, the cocktails are out of this world, and the service was top-tier. I know some people have mentioned they miss the old format, but I honestly prefer this updated version — it feels more elevated and experiential, perfect for date night.

My sister and I went for lunch and shared several plates. Portions were huge — we each left with enough for another full meal. Everything was so fresh and delicious, I already can’t wait to go back. This food lives rent-free in my head!

Amazing authentic Hawaiian dishes with a fun atmosphere. We got a variety of protein dishes (pork, chicken, beef, and fish) and loved them all. Make sure to not skip the Crack Mac dish, best macaroni salad I’ve ever had! Will definitely be going back!
