What a wonderful little hole in the wall spot. The outside is unassuming, but the inside is absolutely adorable with string lights, chill music, and great vibes. Both wine and dinner were absolutely divine and you can tell the food is made from scratch with fresh ingredients. Such a treat! This place is truly a gem- my boyfriend and I both enjoyed our evening here. I am so happy to have stumbled upon it on our one night in the area. Highly recommend 🙂

Here I experienced not only the worst food I have gotten out to eat in over 5 years, but also probably the worst service. I have never left a negative review of a business, especially a small one, before this. Unfortunately, I feel the need to warn all future visitors to not waste their money and time here!
Ate here for Valentine’s Day, with a set menu and 90$ per person price tag for 3 courses. We were sat in a storage area that was colder then the rest of the restaurant, sitting on outdoor seating, with no apology or mention of the circumstances. The appetizer and desert were both store bought, with puff pastry and crostini clearly out of the package. The main problem was with the entree, which was a steak. Everyone I spoke to outside and in the restaurant said the steak was terrible and to avoid it. Unfortunately, we could not change our order to the other dinner option. The steak was overcooked and coated in a nearly inedible sauce. Neither me or my partner finished. Upon telling the wait staff that we were unsatisfied, I was told I should have ordered differently (literally not allowed) and that I was “experiencing new things” and “probably had never had truffle sauce before.” Both of these comments were very demeaning and disrespectful to come from the waitress at an establishment where you pay over 100 dollars for dinner. Despite this blatant disrespect, a 20% gratuity was added to our bill without our consent. Our waitress then asked for a further tip upon payment. They also rejected a coupon our hotel had given us for a discount at their restaurant, citing that it didn’t apply on holidays (cited nowhere on their website or on the coupon itself).

Just left the restaurant. Came for a valentines dinner with a set menu and flat price. They sat us in an unfinished hallway next to the bathroom. Nobody near us was happy with their meals or with the seating. We were definitely taken for a ride here at $90 a plate. I’m sure this place is fine any other time of year but you can’t throw a white table cloth on a patio table and tell people they’re eating gourmet. Predatory holiday up-charge with no discernible benefit for the price. (White table cloth was metaphorical, we were just on a regular patio table!)

Valentine’s Day dinner was amazing at Idle Hour! The wagyu was delicious and cooked perfectly as was the risotto. Plus the starter plate with house made ricotta and spiced honey was divine. The prix fixe menu was very well thought out and delicious. Staff were very friendly and service oriented. It was the perfect place to celebrate!

This place is truly a hidden gem in the mountains. We had a delicious and wonderful dinner here with a really great staff and wine! I believe Jamie was the waitress we had and they were extremely helpful and friendly. The wine was great, a lot of grape varietals I enjoy that they made into blends which was refreshing to try. We had a few shareables, all really yummy and then the ribeye as our main meal, also great. We then shared the special dessert, a fresh apple pie—so good!! They also have some house cats on the property that were very friendly and made the place feel more homely. Wish we had come earlier to do a tasting but highly suggest coming for dinner, fresh and delicious!!

Traveling through Oakhurst, we stopped to have a little lunch on a Saturday, and it was absolutely delightful. We had a wine tasting, a couple of sandwiches with phenomenal salads, and we would definitely be back again. The service was super pleasant, and it’s pet friendly.

Delicious, amazing, definitely go if you are anywhere close! We were staying at the Queen’s Inn and I’m so glad we choose to have dinner here. Service was great in addition to the food. Price seemed very reasonable, we paid just over $100 for appetizer, 2 entrees & a bottle of wine. Most of the seating is outside in a cute shaded patio.
