The other day I went to taste of Italy on the lake. It was quite warm outside, so I thought it would be good enough to go swimming at Lake Hawkins. I was wrong, but luckily, I was in the area and I still move the cross this restaurant and my two nieces were so hungry so we stopped for food and I want to say that the general pricing of the menu is really well. The lunch special is the best deal you can get it comes with your choice of entrée plus either a soup or a salad which I thought was a really good deal. The food was really good. I had the eggplant Parmesan. My two nieces had the spaghetti and meatballs and they reported that the spaghetti and meatballs were very good. Overall customer service fantastic there was a waitress there. I’m not sure her name. Sorry she was prompt with bringing the food and prompt with making sure we needed refills. I think my favorite part about this restaurant was the atmosphere because there was a beautiful view outside that me and my nieces got to enjoy and you could tell the patrons of the restaurant came there a lot because they had good conversation with the waitress, which I thought was adorable overall fine experience. I’ll definitely be stopping by if I’m in Hawkins again if you’re not sure what to get off the menu I would start by trying the meatball because the meatballs are really good.

This place is worth the drive and worth the price – you have to try it.
The food is fantastic – the cuisines that were served tasted amazing with the perfect cheese to sauce ratio. I had the Lasagna (Great choice) (always get the soup side, it is such a good bowl of soup!) with a to go Philly pizza. The pizza is amazing reheated in the air fryer, it just needed a little more Philly meat.
I will definitely be back to try more cuisines on the menu. Worth every penny!

The waitress brought the wrong order for one of us. We had to keep asking for items. I’m gonna say the waitress must be new.
The rolls were pretty good.
Nice sized portions of food. Was it the best no.
But for it being in the middle of no where it is decent and convenient.
If in the area give them a try. I would try them again when I’m at lake Hawkins. But I would not drive a long ways for this place.

Rima was absolutely wonderful!
She was so welcoming and sweet!
We enjoyed a fantastic lunch on a lovely Thursday afternoon! We chose to sit indoors near the windows but others were eating outside on the spacious deck.
Our food was excellent!
The appetizer of calamari, mushrooms, mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce was delicious! My husband had the lasagne and house salad with house vinaigrette! It was delicious! I had the sausage Calzone with house salad and house vinaigrette! It was delicious and we both had enough leftovers for dinner! We’ll definitely be back! ♥️ ♥️

We went for an early dinner. Seated outside, it was a beautiful view of the lake. Food was good and reasonably priced. I would go there again on my next visit to Mineola.

It’s rare that I walk into a restaurant for the first time and feel like I’ve been going there my whole life. This is thanks to the owner’s daughter Arlinda – we connected immediately because I’m a klutz and I tripped walking inside – all my fault because I have giant feet. I’m a writer and had some editing to do, and she sat me at a big booth and from there, we talked off an on for at least 2 hours. The lunch special is $12.95 and you get some giant delicious rolls, a salad, and an entree! Crazy town! The eggplant parmesean is to die for. The salad is cold and crisp, and the bread is terrific. Don’t even get me started on the cannoli!!
It’s obvious that the regular patrons love Arilnda and her parents like family. Several customers hugged her goodbye and told her they loved her. It felt like I was in a movie that featured a family-owned Italian restaurant and their owners and staff. So lovely!
Arlinda’s mother (I don’t know her name) is PRECIOUS. Everyone there is hardworking and cares about customer service – it’s truly a treat to eat here and it’s clear why they’ve been around for decades. Not to mention the view of the lake is stunning. I’ll be back as soon as this coming weekend – maybe sooner!

This is a hidden gem for great Italian food. We went on a Sunday around 4:30pm after spending some time at the lake. This was our first time here. I was impressed with the quality and taste of the food. I liked everything we ordered. We started with the calamari. The tortellini soup had a nice spice to it. The hot homemade dinner rolls were so good! I had the spaghetti and meatballs and my husband had the lasagna. Both were delicious. We will be back.

Hidden gem by the lake. We ate here twice on vacation. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. Service was excellent! We did like the entertainment as well (Fri & Sat). Reservations recommended for the weekend. Bring your own bottle of wine.

Quite possibly the best Italian food I’ve ever had. The garlic rolls were perfect. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked exceptional! We got an Alfredo boat to dip the bread in and we could’ve eaten it all night. I got the pasta trio and the lasagna was the best I’ve ever had and the Alfredo sauce is easily the best I’ve ever had. I CANNOT express to you enough how amazing the food is. The atmosphere is understated quaint and cozy. The live music is awesome as well. It is now becoming a tradition to come here when we come down to hunt. The staff is so friendly and you feel like you’re just home for dinner. This place is special.

Very nice atmosphere overlooking the water. Would have been better had the windows been clean. My view through the glass door was nice after having to kill several annoying gnats. During my visit the beverage options listed on the menu were not available so with the limitations I had to settle for sweet tea. My mother thoroughly enjoyed her seafood meal and my spouse his pasta. As an appetizer I chose the mozzarella sticks, which were phenomenal.
Customer service is top notch Herr so you don’t mind paying $25 – $30 per person for a meal.
