Guys come support your local restaurant! The place is almost hidden in the plaza. The place is super clean, the food is a little simple the only reason I’m giving 4 stars. White rice but it was clean and puffy. I got the chicken that was recommended to me. It was super fresh and hot just a little bland but still really good. For the price vs the amount it was well worth it. Just try it! I’ve been driving past this place for over two years and I’m glad I did. Really happy staff, again good clean atmosphere.

**Hole in the Wall**

As a Navy Reservist, I mobilized to the Middle East and TDY’d to Jacksonville in June 2025 to prepare for deployment. Being half Hawaiian and half Filipino, food isn’t just food to me — it’s home. Back then, I was thrilled to find an L&L Hawaiian Barbecue – 6001 Argyle Forest Blvd #60 and grabbed some chicken katsu to satisfy the craving. It wasn’t exactly like back home, but it definitely hit the spot.

Fast forward to mid-February 2026 — after returning from deployment to demobilize — I couldn’t wait to get that island comfort food again. I searched Google Maps and was crushed to see L&L had permanently closed. I was genuinely disappointed.

But then I found a spot called Manila Hawaiian Hut – 6001 Argyle Forest Blvd #60, boasting 4.8 stars. The photos looked incredible. The reviews were glowing. I decided to give it a shot — not realizing it was the exact same location as the former L&L!

When I walked in, I immediately recognized the place. I asked the cashier if it used to be L&L, and he confirmed it. His name is Chris — but since I speak Tagalog, I call him Kuya Chris. From the moment I walked in, he was warm, welcoming, bubbly, and genuinely kind. That kind of hospitality matters, especially when you’ve been away from home for months.

I ordered the kalbi ribs and garlic shrimp — and let me tell you, it was outstanding. The flavors were authentic, savory, and incredibly close to what you’d find back in Hawai‘i. The next day, I came back for longsilog, malasadas, and a musubi. Every bite transported me home. After months in the Middle East, that meal meant more than I can put into words.

If you’re craving authentic Hawaiian and Filipino comfort food in Jacksonville, this is the place. The portions are generous, the flavors are on point, and the service feels like family. Whether you’re local, military, or just passing through, Manila Hawaiian Hut is absolutely worth your time.

I proudly support this restaurant 100%. For anyone looking for a true taste of aloha and Filipino hospitality — this is it.

Stopped by today while our and about. Had no idea what to expect, but we were all quite happy! First off it’s not just Hawaiian food. It’s also Filipino food. The owner is very happy and upbeat and loves to joke around. He was very helpful! Then the food was damn good! We will be back for more! Highly recommend this place for the food and the owner!!

Food was not good. Had the pancit & lumpia combo and the pancit was from a buffet style area and the lumpia wasn’t the greatest either. The sauce for the lumpia was jellied?? Or hard because it was old??? I won’t be going back. Very disappointed

Excellent food and service! I didn’t recognize most of the dishes on the menu. The gentleman behind the counter helped me pick the sizzling sisig with egg. It was excellent! The pork belly was deliciously marinated and crispy and the eggs were cooked just the way I liked it. Would definitely recommend.
