Food looked amazing and it was okay. Could just not be my palate. However, when we went there, it was super quiet, no music playing, and the cashier/waiter didn’t really know the menu it seemed and was very distant and cold. It is pricey to be fair, so I was expecting good portions, and to that, they delivered on! It’s great portions and honestly maybe too much for me, but I won’t complain about that. I wish the shrimp didn’t still have the skin and tail on, but that’s just a preference. Overall, it was an okay experience. I don’t think I’ll come back, but it’s not terrible. Food came out fast.

On September 27th, we capitalized on the opportunity to explore Fairbanks and enjoyed a memorable dining experience at POLYNESIAN CUISINE SUKA’S , which was highly recommended by a family member. The exceptional cuisine, outstanding service, and generous portions significantly surpassed our expectations..

I’m in Fairbanks today for work and a client recommended Suka’s because the food is excellent. I love Polynesian, so I went for dinner and ordered the chicken katsu plate. The chicken came with rice, salad, and macaroni salad. I wasn’t mentally prepared for what I was served. The portion sizes are very generous. The chicken katsu was the best I’ve ever had. Seriously! Some places overcook the katsu … not here! It was perfect. Delicious perfection! The mac salad was delicious, too. I asked what the sauce was and I was told “Suka sauce”. Apparently, the recipe for the sauce is a secret. That’s a shame because other Polynesian restaurants need to offer this sauce. I’m coming back to Fairbanks in March and I will be returning. The staff was very friendly, too. I highly recommend the chicken katsu. You won’t be disappointed. This is the new standard for Polynesian cuisine.

The food was fantastic! Came up to Alaska from south Texas (PP956 ) and I’ve never had Polynesian food, this was such a great introduction to the cuisine!

If you go there with a big group of people you’ll realize that they give the same salad and macaroni mix to each dish, which should be reflected in the price. I absolutely love that tuna Pokeball and will come again for it. Its the best dish they have, I wish they had more raw fish dishes.

Atmosphere is mid but that’s not why I came. The food was soooo good! First timer and I got the fried Musubis, garlic shrimp and the tune poke sampler. All amazing. 10/10 could go back again. My husband loved it as well.

I will give this place one more shot. But Im pretty sure nothing was fresh. Our teriyaki bone in chicken thigh tasted old, dry, unchewable and reheated. The macaroni salad was delicious, but it was only two bites. We got a combo of 3 different meats. They were out of pulled pork and they didn’t bother to tell us until we had ordered and they walked away, which I noticed they did this to every customer. So we got double of yesterdays teriyaki chicken thigh. The chicken katsu was very good, but once again it tasted reheated. The spam fries were also decent, I think it may have been the freshest thing we ate. I really wanted to like this place, the service was good (server guy was nice) and fast. Due to the reheated food I felt like I ate at grandma’s house and ate her leftovers from 3 days ago. Like I said I’ll give it one more go, but I can make better at home and reheat my leftovers up tomorrow. I will edit my next visit if it changes.

One thing about living in Fairbanks we don’t have to leave town to have international cuisine what a surprise I had when I sat down and started my meal I stopped immediately I wanted a photograph and I wanted to post it the spam was so surprising period wrapped in rice and a crust that seemed to me to be fried corn unfortunately the waitress did know. The rice was firm sweet an amazingly tasty to be plain white. The macaroni salad had a slight bite which made it even more interesting. Nothing I can say about the place was disappointing and the employees seem quite genuine. Don’t miss out. Give them a try.
The second picture what’s my dinner. The first one was a group of soldiers leaving as I was arriving. I was concerned that maybe they didn’t like the food. There was so much of it left. Well they boxed it all up and I asked them what they thought. They all eagerly complimented restaurant and the food and the large portions. We have to remember soldiers don’t eat quite as much as they did in the 60s and 70s

Absolutely divine plate. Best food in Fairbanks without the inkling of a doubt. Portions are incredibly generous for the price, 3+ meals out of the option A plate. Food was ordered and in my tummy within 10 minutes of walking into the restaurant. Don’t even get me started on the quality of the meal itself, often times I find myself repulsed by the food I ate after getting my fix, but Sukas quality demands that I keep going, pushing beyond my limits. Upon eating a meal from this euphoric establishment, a newfound sense of clarity is unlocked.
