This is the OG Bar of Burlington that didn’t sell our or shut down. No food but affordable drinks, amazing service. Emily at the bar was amazing. Remember please tip respectfully. I witnessed a customer ordered 6 beers and 4 mixed drinks and tip $5. If that was you, you should be ashamed. This is the most authentic bar in Burlington. Cheers to Akes

This bar is the most pathetic bar in America. Dirty. Disrespectful. Run by inexperienced and immoral employees. We were kicked out of the bar for having legal official IDs. My brother is 26 and I’m 30 and they told us our IDs were fake. We proceed to walk to the next bar which told us our IDs were valid and 100% real mocking their neighbors in the process. A great sports bar. My father started going here years ago, then I started joining him at 21 years old. They have friendly bartenders, good games on the many televisions they have, and an overall welcoming environment. If you enjoy fair priced drinks and watching sports come to Akes’ Place on Church Street in Burlington!

Bartenders in here were awesome. Just super kind and down to earth guys. Came in with a big group on a bachelor party to play darts and ordered a bunch of drinks and they were super kind to us.

Decent bar. Lively and definitely catered to a younger college crowd. Had 8 dollar beers and some 3 dollar bud light bottles. Has a pool table in the back. Only the women’s room was available because unfortunately the men’s room had vomit or feces on the walls.

Place sucks went with family for drink on new years and they asked a legitimate aged person to leave because they thought his ID was not valid. Total bullshit, likely older than half the patrons.

They pick and choose who they want in their bar. Even if you’re 21+ they will rudely take your ID and kick you out. Had to call the cops to get my ID back. Not worth it. There are plenty of much better bars in Burlington.

My ID was slightly bent and rather than scan it or ask me any questions, the doorman turned me away saying unless I had another accepted form of photo ID he wasn’t letting me in after he let all my friends in and we’re all 21 or older. He was incredibly rude and condescending when it was obvious I didn’t have another form of ID which was unnecessary.

Be warned. They charged my card the following night on top of the original charge for a different amount. I ordered $29 worth of drinks including tip and paid for it, then the next day they charged me $16 and I wasn’t even in town. See other reviews of them doing this. I submitted a chargeback through my CC company and they ruled in my favor. Fraud is illegal and it’s really scummy of them to do this..
