We came to the Burma Love near the old SF mint for lunch on a Sunday. We had a reservation but I think a walk-in would have been just fine without a wait. We absolutely loved the food – everything from the platha to the tea leaf salad to the mango chicken. Just the right level of coconut spiciness and with a generous dose of mangos for the mango chicken. The U Aung San drink was also noteworthy with the cardamom providing an interesting complement to the bitters and orange. Overall, highly recommend this place.

This was my first time trying Burmese food. And heard really good about this place. And they did stand up to their praise.
Went here with my family and we ordered the Burma veg samosa soup, Fiery Tofu, Burma love fresh mint-chicken and coconut rice.
Burma veg samosa soup was really something different and very tasty! Fiery tofu- nothing fiery about it so don’t get scared by the name. Burma love fresh mint-chicken was also very good and coconut rice as usual simple but delightfully complimenting all the other foods ☺️
Would surely recommend

Burma Love has been a San Francisco stalwart for years and a big part of the city’s Burmese food wave. I visited the Mint Avenue branch and was really impressed by the décor. It is stylish, thoughtful, and probably unmatched at this price point. Service was fantastic too, warm and efficient.
The food was great overall. Their signature Burmese red curry was flavourful, with good chunks of potato, plenty of meat, and just enough spice to keep it interesting without scaring off those who struggle with heat. The buttery bread was dangerously addictive (and yes, a bit greasy, but worth the calories). Where it slipped was the fried rice. At $23 to $24 it looked good, but had barely any chicken and almost zero flavour. For that money I would rather have a cheeky Thai or Malaysian fried rice, half the price, double the meat, triple the flavour. Burma Love is still a lovely spot, especially in the evening when the lighting adds real charm.

This restaurant had two gracious hosts who answered all of our many questions. They had so many delicious options on the menu that I and 7 other friends had a tough time choosing food; however, our server was patient. We started with drinks (highly recommend their lychee cocktail) and the appetizer sampler, which was plenty for all of us. We were enticed by many good meals around us, and we all picked different dishes and even non-alcoholic drinks. Let’s just say that nobody went home hungry and we didn’t have room for dessert. The Burmese food here is truly delicious. Be mindful that they do include tip for large parties as part of the bill and have a $25 working fee. Other than that, the atmosphere was very nice and I will be going back again in the near future.

Gorgeous setting, solid service. Unfortunately the food was lacking in flavor. Nicely presented but flat. We ordered the Tea Salad which was ok, Sesame Chicken, garlic noodles with shrimp and fried rice. Portions were generous, the noodles and rice were cooked well but lacking in flavor or nuance. The chicken had the most flavor but was dry. We had a couple of folks who were spice adverse and not interested in curry, sadly. Which I would like to have tried.

Beautiful space and absolutely stunning food. I went here with a very large work group and we ordered a wide variety of dishes to satisfy different palates. Every dish was nicely presented, but the flavors knocked it out of the park. The curried noodle soup was to die for, but every single dish was well seasoned, fresh and vibrant, with a mix of textures. The tea leaf salad and purple rice dessert were also standouts, as well as the spicy pork dish. Come hungry!

Was super excited to try the restaurant since we’ve been huge fans of the salad. But let me paint a picture for you for how our food experience went.
Imagine you rode your bike across San Francisco and decided to stop at Burma love to pick up your takeout before getting on the train. Knowing there’s still about 2 miles of riding between Burma love, you choose the drier options so they are less messy and won’t spill during the bike ride. You get on the train, lock your bike and ready to dig into the food to find… that’s right… no utensils. You are left with the option of sitting there with your food staring back at you while you’re starving for the hour long ride or you dig in. While using the sauce lids help you in shoving food in your mouth faster, you’re left with greasy fingers and broken sauce lids but so satisfied with the food.
Food is 10/10 but please, for the love of Burma, if you order from here, make sure you get utensils. And Burma Love, we love you but please pack utensils for us for takeout foods.

Had burmese food after 20 years. Sad that we don’t have a burmese restaurant in charlotte. Ordered burmese lamb curry. Lamb was cooked to perfection with right and delicious flavors. Burma Love has to be one of my favorite burmese restaurants.

We ate at this restaurant with a group of friends and we liked the experience. The food is good, the service is polite and professional. Prices are high, but overall it was a good value for money.

Got the coconut curry chicken noodle soup and it was average. However, the service is excellent; bartender was super caring and friendly. Atmosphere is also excellent. Spot feels like a great place for an upscale, family-style meal with a group.
Can’t recommend the noodle soup. It’s incredibly oily and the dish didn’t live up to the presentation.
I’ll likely be back though to try out their tea leaf salad and nan gyi dok!
