Mabel is the second culinary collaboration of Laura Brahn and Grace Crossman (chef/owners of the Asbury Park brunch spot Cardinal with a cult following). They’ve brought to Bell Works a playful, unpretentious approach to the neighborhood restaurant with a coastal European spin. The space is warm and inviting no matter the occasion. To accompany their seasonally inspired fare, Mabel features an inventive cocktail list with classic bones, 8 draft beers, and a hearty wine list. With a full bar room, lounge, and 100 person dining room, plus an outdoor patio — Mabel can’t wait to be your favorite restaurant for lunch with the kids, date night, happy hour, girls night, and everything in between.

We had the pleasure of being able to rent out part of the Mabel venue/restaurant for our recent baby shower! Dara and Mimi from Mabel were so accommodating and made the experience so much more special. The staff during the event were so friendly and welcoming. The service was quick, and the atmosphere of the space was airy, bright, inviting, and so clean.
The food was amazing! Guests still talk about how good the brownie skillet and the chicken fingers with that delicious jammy sauce were. The menu has a great variety to select from if you’re looking to book a brunch-lunch event. They even accommodated our gluten-free guests!
They also let us arrive an hour early to set up and decorate the venue according to our liking, with some guidelines from Bell Works, and it truly was such a great layout for the space. We had a wonderful time and encourage others to host their next event here!

My husband and I had our wedding reception at Mabel and it was a dream come true!! From the perfect atmosphere, to the amazing staff (shout out Dara and chef Laura for being so great to work with!), and obviously the most delicious food! It was everything we wanted! We had a little less than 60 people which was perfect for the dining room space. We were able to have a DJ and small dance floor too. We did our cocktail hour outside and then transitioned inside for dinner and dancing. What I loved most is how personal everything felt. The restaurant really wants to make sure you have the perfect day; you’re not just another number to them like some other wedding venues, which my husband and I truly appreciated. I honestly can’t say enough good things and If I got to do my wedding again I would without a doubt still have it at Mabel! Highly recommend!

Amazing spot— for date night, drinks and girl dinner! The soul and spirit of this women owned local biz shines through in all the details and every dish. Menu changes seasonally, but always rely on their homemade pastas, fresh seafood apps and the Parker house rolls omgggg ☠️ We love sneaking in for a cocktail while the kids romp, and they’re the OG “girl dinner” spot. The sidecar of gummy worms with your martini?! Genius.

Great service. Sat quickly and plenty of seating inside bright room and the waitress knew everything very well.
Cocktails are strong and spirit forward. Well mixed.
Caesar salad – not enough Caesar dressing and didn’t like the greens with it. Pass.
The Brussels sprouts were very good – glazed with sugar and crispy. Get.
The calamari was perfectly fried and delicious. Get.
The calavetti was way too healthy tasting and all broccoli. Pass.
The pork pasta was much tastier. More sauce. Get.
The clam ink pasta was 5 clams. Decent portion, but barely any clams!
Chicken wings were spicy and good pepper. Get.
Overall, mixed bag. Portions were good. Some plates were not much flavor and some were excellent.

Just okay…. Especially for the price point. First, they brought my toddler’s meal out 10 minutes before our meals came out. It was good. The issue I had is I ordered the greens salad and the very first ingredient in the description was charred broccoli. My broccoli came out steamed. I did say something because that’s a fundamentally different taste and experience for a pretty simple salad. The waitress was very nice and took it back but when it came back out it’s clear the kitchen didn’t know what charred broccoli is because is was the same broccoli jsut burned with a blow torch lol. For an $18 salad plus another $12 for a protein… not great.

Thoroughly disappointing. My burger was underseasoned. The only thing going for it was that it was cooked to temp. The salad was inedible- entire leaves of hard greens, some of them brown in color and very unappealing, no dressing or seasoning on them at all. My server was polite, but took 10 minutes to take my order (dining room was almost empty). Food took another 15 minutes to arrive and by then I had to take the food to go. Spent almost $30 on a burger with a glass of water. Do not recommend!

We had dinner at Mabel’s before the George Harrison tribute concert on Feb. 27th. What a great experience! Wonderful, friendly service by Lila, who took great care of us. We shared the wonderful buffalo cauliflower as an appetizer, and then enjoyed the ravioli pomodoro, pork ragu fettuccini and chicken milanese alla marsala. Broad drink and wine menu. The only thing we’d suggest is better lighting; a bit dark! But, will definitely return.

This place is wonderful and the food was fantastic! We got the seafood tower and it was some of the freshest oysters I have ever had. I like how they have a seasonal menu and the wine/cocktail pairings fit perfectly with what the server recommended. The food is thoughtful, creative, fresh, and modern – yet still has some of those traditional touches (the jersey corn salad, the Asian crispy wings, the penne vodka). The most magical dishes were definitely the homemade pastas – make sure to get the pesto pasta, it’s cooked to absolute perfection. This place is a gem!

The food matched with the atmosphere and amazing service made for a fantastic night. I try something new every time I go and have not been let down. Gluten free, vegan, all types of options for everyone in your party. Highly recommend for a date night or a night out with the family. Honorable mention to their happy hour! Good prices and great food. Can’t beat it

Over the summer I took my family to Mable for the first time and was immediately impressed with the hospitality they provided. The seasonal menu was versatile and carefully curated, and the entire waitstaff welcomed us with open arms. Bubba, our host and food runner, was nothing less than exceptional which made our experience well worth our time. He demonstrated his knowledge by answering our questions with thoughtful, in-depth responses. We have come back a few times since, and learned that Bubba was promoted to manager. There is no doubt in my mind that he fits the position well. Great decision from upper management in doing so! Your customer retention rate will skyrocket because of it. I don’t usually leave reviews, in fact this is my first…but I firmly believe in giving credit where credit is due. Thank you guys for the wonderful experience!
