Unfortunately this is my second time trying this location with no success, the first time I ordered a chorizo breakfast burrito and they were out of product so I didn’t try them that day. I have been told by many folks that this is a great food truck, I just haven’t gotten to experience it .
The team was incredibly hospitable and welcoming right from the moment we walked in—warm smiles, friendly chat, and they made us feel like regulars even on our first visit. That kind of genuine hospitality really stands out in a busy college town like Bozeman.
The food was solid and hit the spot. We went with some classic breakfast burritos burrito, and everything was flavorful, fresh, and generously portioned. The meats were well-seasoned, the salsa had good kick without overpowering, and the beans/rice sides were on point. Nothing fancy or over-the-top gourmet, but reliably good Mexican comfort food done right. Apparently open 24 hours.
So as we’re driving we noticed several on both sides of the road, not knowing what they had to offer we chose the bright red and orange food truck !! They offered Mexican cuisine !! We were standing at window to order since the other 3 people were eating and one waiting for an order,so we started to order and the guy turned around and came back looking at us so we start ordering and he said no, looking over us telling the guy waiting his order was ready, so again we tried to order and the same guy looks at another worker, crank the music up super loud and they both walk off then another guy asks if we wanted to order after ordering, paying and waiting another 25 minutes it was ready , walk up and the guy slammed it down and cranked the music louder !!
The shells were so soggy they fell apart, so much liquid running out of the meat that the beans and rice were like soup. There were so many onions and tomatoes to fill the whole bottom container !! No flavor at all, took a couple bites and so messy and inedible !!
We found our meals were mediocre flavor wise. The servings were very large which is always great.
I had the Chili Relleno Combo. The poblano was quite large and cooked appropriately, very tender. Unfortunately I did get a mouthful of the woody stem that was not removed. It was generously stuffed with melty queso fresco, battered and fried with a very egg forward thick breading and wasn’t overly greasy, then topped with rojo sauce. However the entire compilation was mostly bland, zero seasoning. Also I found the accompanying chopped iceberg lettuce unnecessary, but the accompanying warm flour tortillas were absolutely fantastic!! They looked too large to be handmade, but tasted handmade. Very, very good. I filled them with Spanish rice. Yum!
My husband had the carne asada street taco combo. He thought they were pretty good. Very generously filled tacos. The meat was moist and tender, topped with very fresh pico de gallo, but he did need to add salt. Served in double layer, warm, soft corn tortillas.
We both found the refried beans to be a good consistency and had a little melty shredded cheese on top. Again, they were very, very bland. We were really missing some seasoning.
The Spanish rice was pretty good. Perfectly cooked rice, and nice and flavorful. It was the item I liked the best in the combos.
The condiments provided were 1 verde sauce, delicious! And 1 rojo sauce, which I can only describe as a chili powder sauce, because that’s all we could taste. Neither of us liked it at all.
Overall we may give this place a second chance to try some of the other menu items. I just hope we get a little more spices and flavor next time.
