First time trying this newly open establishment. Im not from the area but I drove from Lansing just to try them out.
Love what they did to the place, its very nice welcoming atmosphere and very cleaned compared to the prior restaurant that was there.
Our server was great and very tentative.
Food:
Spring roll -was good and definitely different with that yellow sauce to go with it and its a warm sauce.
The Vietnamese coffee with the egg – creative and tasted great.
The caramelized fish sauce wing- came out looked great and appetizing, but kind of disappointed. The sauce was nice but when you bite into the wings it was blend. Could of also seasoned the chicken a little more so it just depends on the fish sauce flavor.
Pho- we got the Pho special and it came out looking very good. The meat was super soft and tender loved that. But the broth lacks flavor to me. The pho was kind of water down and all I taste was hot water with hint of sweetness and the star anis was very overwhelming.
But my taste buds and palate is different if your in this side of town scoop onto through and give them a try. Maybe I caught them on a off day who knows.

DANG CHI
Tried the shaking beef fried rice at Gạo Michigan and it was a great experience. The restaurant has a very chill atmosphere, the staff are professional and attentive, and the food quality is excellent. I had try many Vietnamese Dish overhere for few times, Each dish has its own distinctive flavor, and the shaking beef with fried rice was especially satisfying and well-balanced. Definitely a spot worth coming back to.

Come one, come all to Gao’s. A great place for Vietnamese food and drink. Anyone who leaves a bad review is incorrect and is not based on fact. The staff is incredibly helpful and kind. Their pho soup is excellent and deserves high praise. I do believe anyone can cook. The food was delicious and I will definitely be returning. Great job!

Prices are good for the amount of food you get. The atmosphere is very vibrant like the decor. It’s perfect for pictures, trying some new Vietnamese cuisine, and getting really goof foodie pictures. I haven’t tried the drinks, but I want to come back to try their more fancier menu options. The food is presented beautifully, the waitress was kind and explained the meals cleary. I wish the sauce for the rice bowls were a bit more salty or had more fish sauce in it, but I do like my food saltier. But the noodles, veggies, and meat tasted really fresh. Definitely coming back

Food was good! Prices are relatively the same with most of the pho places nearby, maybe a dollar or two different. The matcha coconut drink was so good. Will definitely be back.
