Absolutely the best tamales we have ever had!!!! (Ps my partner is from down south-so that’s saying something) Ever since we had them at the first event we saw them at we have been eating them and searching out for them at markets! Look no more since they have multiple locations now! Their beans and rice are delicious!!! Also their cheese and the bean ones are our favorites for being vegetarians! Love the atmosphere too! Get there early if you want specific flavors sometimes they sell out late evening! Staff is so helpful, kind and welcoming Ps they saved our date night dinner for Valentine’s Day too since every other restaurant was booked for hours! LOVE TAMALE BOX!!

We tried one of each tamale! Jalapeño & Cheese was super moist, with good flavors, but if you like a more firm masa, this one won’t be your favorite, but it will still be delicious. I wish there were more jalapeños inside. The Shredded Beef was the best one… lotsa tender meat with a savory, slightly spicy red chile sauce. The Black Bean was shockingly impressive! I’ve never had beans in a tamale before, so this was a pleasant surprise. Pork Chile Verde and Chicken Chile Rojo were equally enjoyable. None of these tamales failed! The sizes were perfect. They have bottles of both red and green chile on the table. Both were good, but the red was superior! Spicy on a level I can appreciate with a garlic and chipotle flavor. The tortilla chips were fresh and delightful, and the perfect thickness to scoop up the homemade guacamole. Go try this place! It’s great! It’s fast, too.

They are what they say they are – tamale [in a] box – for take-away or dine in. Either way, the tamales are excellent! The rice and beans are also great, and the margaritas good!
Not much seating space inside, so most orders seem to be “pickup”, but in warmer temps, there’s outside seating as well.
Worth visiting!

If you haven’t hit up Tamale Box yet, what are you doing?! This place is serving up some of the best tamales around, made with quality ingredients you can actually taste.

And the natural wine selection? Insane. Whether you’re a wine nerd or just want something good to sip on, they’ve got a bottle for you.

But honestly, what makes this place even better? The service. Everyone here is so welcoming and clearly loves what they do—it makes the whole experience that much better.

Do yourself a favor and go. Grab a plate, try a new wine, and thank us later.

A casual dining location just off down town with plenty of free parking. The service was prompt, and the staff helpful in guiding our tamale choices. The restaurant was clean and easily accessed. Tamales, especially good ones, are not a common item in most restaurants due to the steps needed to make a good one. Tamale Box does a great job!

Holy Cow. This place is serving up deliciousness and a great value. These Tamales are light, fluffy, huge and filling. I have had the chicken and pork and both were exceptional. Do not skip the beans and rice. They are so good and could become your favorite. We always get the pico and chips and love them too. Hubby had a Margarita (house made, no premix) and loved it. Can’t wait for my next trip!

I was lucky enough to taste these tamales on my most recent visit to Spokane during their soft opening. This is the kid of food you eat and know immediately it was made with love, respect for the process, and serious skill. The kind of food you would be buried with if you were a pharaoh. The kind of food you would ask for as your last meal if you were on death row. As someone who grew up eating tamales for Christmas, I can tell you: like me you probably think you have tried tamales, but you’ve not had a *real* tamale the until you’ve had these. My favorite was the cheese and jalapeño. They also have an amazing, well curated selection of natural wine. You can even take the bottles to go. Great vibes in the restaurant itself. What is not to love. The space isn’t huge, so you might have some wait time at peak hours.

I think I just had *THE* best-cooked tamale of my life at Tamale Box, which, as a Mexican person from CA raised by a tamale queen grandma, is saying a lot. Like the steam was perfect. Do you sous vide them???! Anyway, I loved eating here on my trip to Spokane.

One of my favorite places to eat in Spokane. The menu is small but has something for everyone. The quality is unreal! The natural wine selection is the best I have found in Spokane and their sauces, pico and guac are so fresh! It’s hard not to eat here every week.

I have been here several times but just recently ordered NYE lunch for my team. Everything was perfect (as always). The tamales even converted someone that said they didn’t like them now they love them.
