This is by far the best non-omakase sushi I’ve ever had!

Every time I go, I choose around 8-10 nigiris of the today’s specials. It is always reasonably priced, by the quality you get!

The fish is fresh, the rice is well seasoned and its’ temperature is on point!

Don’t forget to get their unagi!

This is the place I wish I could bring with me if I ever move from Bay Area.

Love this place, I eat here at least once a week, sometimes up to 3x a week. On a budget, you can easily stick w/ their amazing rolls. Want to splurge? Go for some amazing nigiri or sashimi. This is the best sushi on the peninsula. No gimmicks, no frills, just great sushi being served by great people. Go at lunch if you don’t want to risk waiting for a table!

offers a cozy spot with a focused menu primarily featuring sushi rolls. While the music can be lively and tables are limited, it’s a great choice if you’re craving straightforward, delicious rolls in a vibrant setting.

This place is amazing The atmosphere is calm and welcoming with soft music playing. Great decor and lighting. Sushi was made to order and is SO fresh! This was the best dragon roll I have ever eaten and I always order a dragon roll! Delicious miso soup. Edamame weren’t salted or need more salt.

Items ordered: miso soup, edamame, dragon roll, volcano roll, baked sushi roll, and wagyu beef roll

A hidden little place with high quality food. The nigiri was fantastic and actually adhered to the rice. The specialty rolls had so much body and flavor, and nothing fell apart while you were eating it. We had some sea urchin as well and found it to be quite fresh. We very much enjoyed this place.

Don’t be thrown off by the fabric covering the door when you arrive. The fabric-covered door is your way into this little sushi-serving Narnia.

Absolutely love this place, the food is fantastic, the team is so nice to us every time we go!

Our family’s favorite sushi spot in Redwood City!

Would highly recommend, they even gave us a little gift, since we are regulars. They take care of their customers and truly care.

Thank you Akami!

The sushi was great. The vegetarian sushis was on the small size and doesn’t really make you full. If you’re vegetarian, I would skip Akami. Otherwise, normal pricing as what you should expect living in the Bay Area. I got 3 different sushi rolls and paid about $50. Portions are also on the small side.

Came here for a $89 omakase for lunch.
You need to call 24 hours in advance to reserve for an omakase tasting.
The good: for $89 price the quality is great. Service is good.
The area of improvement: This is probably the saltiest nigiri I have ever had, the soy sauce are almost dripping from the rice it is overpowering the fish, truly a pity since the fish and condiments (like yuzu pepper, thinly sliced green onion) taste great.

I think I have found my new favorite sushi restaurant in the South Bay. The restaurant is small but cozy, all the ingredients feel fresh and the rolls are very smooth. I really recommend this place, in terms of quality and price it is far superior.
