Carne Asada and Pollo Poblano were my favorite tacos. The corn was really tangy and spicy as well. Shake down shrimp was a banger as well.
I would stop by if you are in the area and craving some tacos !
Their salsa selection was great as well. I personally liked the habanero salsa which had the kick i wanted.
Great tacos !!
As for my go-to veggie options, the cauliflower taco is hands down the best, whether in a blue tortilla or a lettuce wrap. The avocado taco comes in as a close second, followed by the mushroom. Each taco is packed with flavor, so well-seasoned that they don’t even need additional salsa. Their signature blue tortilla chips are a must-try, especially when paired with their delicious guac and queso.
The atmosphere here is always lively, and the bartender was fantastic—super friendly and actively engaging with the locals, making the experience even better. Whether you’re here for the tacos, the drinks, or just the great vibe, Taco Rock never disappoints. Can’t wait for my next visit!
Today I walked in and started placing an order on the touch screen (humans don’t take your order at this establishment) when the bartender told me I needed to leave and come back because they weren’t open for another seven minutes. Why was the door open then? Considering this place is empty every time I go, I found it shocking they would turn away a customer into the cold (it’s snowing today) rather than let me seat myself in their big empty restaurant for a couple minutes until they get it together.
Definitely recommend the rockfish taco. The softness of the fish with the crunchy batter, plus the toppings not only adds the to the flavor but also to the overall texture combination. This is a delicate goodness all wrapped in the corn tortilla.
Taco Rock is a repeat visit for sure!
Corn chips and salsa, which are typically complimentary in small ethnic restaurants in my experience, were okay. The chips looked and tasted like Mission brand tri-color triangle corn chips. The black beans that came with the fajitas were flavorful. I did not care for the rice, which had a floral hint in taste. The flour tortillas, tightly wrapped in foil, were hot but moist, which did not create a good mouthfeel.
I could not taste tequila in the margarita, but I think that’s because they use fizzy ice (tiny air bubbles in the ice). Fizzy ice, also known as aerated ice, melts much faster than solid ice, diluting drinks
The bar is rectangular with seating on three sides, seating about 22 people. It has very comfortable, lightweight aluminum bar chairs with backs. Lighting is modulated. The bar is the focal point of the space and ideal for socializing. Five stars for bar design and ambiance. The bar is also the only place for food service. The restaurant area is self-service, with customers ordering at self-service kiosks lined up in the front of the restaurant. I dined at the bar.
Taco Rock seems to be a fast food restaurant with a bar, in my estimation.
I got the Piggy Mac, Smashburger, and Birria tacos, and they were all delicious. Others at the table said the Double Deuce, Breakfast, and Rockfish were also good. I can’t wait to go back and try out more on the menu!
