Social Profile:

Moshi Taiyaki is a Japanese inspired treat shop in Minot, North Dakota, celebrating beloved Japanese street snacks while embracing the warmth and diversity of the community we call home. In Japan, taiyaki is a traditional fish shaped treat enjoyed warm and associated with good fortune. At Moshi Taiyaki, we honor this tradition with a modern, playful twist. The fish shape holds special meaning in North Dakota, shaped by lakes, fishing culture, and golden sunrises. We serve freshly made fish shaped waffles with crisp exteriors and warm fillings, offering classic flavors like red bean and custard alongside modern favorites such as Nutella, Oreo, dulce de leche, pistachio chocolate, and savory cheese options. These treats bring people together.

So happy to have such a delicious, friendly, and fun dessert spot in town!

You can order easily using the kiosk in-store or through DoorDash, which is very convenient
One fun part of visiting the store is watching the taiyaki being made through the glass window.

There are so many flavors of fish-shaped chewy bread to choose from—red bean, Oreo, Nutella, cheese, peach, raspberry, jalapeño & cheese, and even unique options like Dubai chocolate, pizza, and ham & cheese

The drinks are also a must-try!
The matcha is flavorful but not too strong, so it’s very approachable. I added yuzu syrup for extra sweetness, and it was great. My husband tried mango with matcha and loved it.
The cream foam on top was very soft, and the ube foam had a beautiful color and smooth flavor

One small suggestion for improvement: when ordering a half dozen or dozen taiyaki, it’s hard to tell which flavor is which since they look the same. It would be nice if the flavors were labeled or separated by order.

Overall, I love their food and service
Highly recommend trying this place if you enjoy fun and unique desserts. I can’t wait to try their new menu items!

They can get really busy, but the staff are super nice and do their best to attend to the customers right away.

Amazing spot for a quick bite. Honestly made a really good first impression. They treat their customers with careful consideration and the food just hits. Recommend this spot for a friend group or if you’re shopping by yourself. They have salty and sweet items on the menu. I recommend the pizza flavor or dubai chocolate if you’re a chocoholic. They also have matcha drinks. Those taste pretty refreshing, light on the stomach, the flavors aren’t overbearing but they’re not underwhelming either, it’s right in that perfect middle. There’s also plenty of variety with both their food and drink flavors. Definitely going to swing by here again.

Passing through ND – Magic City, and an ad for this place came up so I decided to stop for a quick snack. Commendable little new shop. 5 stars for effort.

Self order and checkout, variety of flavors but not an overwhelming menu.

I probably didn’t come at a good time because the taiyakis were pretty soggy and limp. Sweet > savory flavors, because quality.

Drink was not overly sweet, and very pretty. But for the time it takes to make the drink, I think some fresh crispy taiyakis would have been perfect. The Dubai special taiyaki was crunchy filled so that was pleasant.

The mochi taiyaki is goodddddd and very easy to enjoy. I’ve tried every flavor, and my personal favorites are cheese, red bean, and Dubai chocolate. When the shop first opened, I felt that the filling was a little light and hoped they would add more. Later, after talking with the staff, I learned that the fillings weren’t actually small—they just tended to leak out of the batter. He then adjusted his method so the fillings would stay inside better. Now, every time I buy them, the filling is generous and sometimes even overflows. It’s clear that the owner really listens to customer feedback and works to improve. That level of care is something I truly appreciate. The prices are reasonable as well, which makes me want to keep supporting this shop and hope more people could come and try their tiyaki!

This spot is worth checking out in Minot! Ordered the dulce de leche taiyaki, the taste was decent but more filling would have been nice, the outer pieces could have been cooked more thoroughly, and could have held together better. They have plenty of flavours that I haven’t tried and more to come. I hope this store succeeds and can improve with time, it would be a nice mainstay in minot!

A go-to new fresh spot in the mall. When my wife and I went dolce de leche/ Nutella ones were absolutely amazing, gooey, and the perfect amount of scrumptious sweetness. This is definitely a place we look forward to stopping at again and something I would highly recommend.
I hear this is a soft open too, so soon they’re going to come out with even more, can’t wait to see where this goes!
