Haven’t been here in awhile so decided to do a fish fry with my girlfriend on a Friday evening. Wasn’t super busy so we were seated right away. Our server was friendly and attentive. Not a long wait for our food. The breaded cod I had was great and my girlfriend loved her salad. Prices were good and the portion size was perfect. Nice atmosphere, with dining available in the bar area and on the patio. Great experience overall and would definitely recommend.
UPDATE: We went back for supper on a Saturday night. Seated promptly, order taken, great service, great food. Finished eating and waited patiently for our over worked waitress to deliver our check. We had a movie to see in Mequon mind you and hadn’t all night to wait. Time went by and finally decided to go stand by the hostess station and told another waitress we needed to go. I was directed to the owner who was tending bar. He printed our check and I left a better tip than I normally would just so I didn’t have to wait for change. Didn’t get a comp or a sorry about that outta the owner. Thanks pal, next time we’ll get a pizza at the theatre! You lose 2 stars.

Had breakfast there yesterday. The pancakes looked a little odd when we got them. Very thin and didn’t seem to have the right color. Had a few bites and told the 1st waitress they tasted sour. She left and never replied. Didn’t eat anymore but both my wife and I felt they were make with old/sour milk. Mentioned it to another waitress with no reply again. Discounted half our bill but no one said a word to us. Poor customer service and our stomachs are felling it today. If your looking for a good breakfast spot this is not it.

My fish fry ( baked cod )was delicious! I chose soup and it was very good. The potato pancakes were some of the best I’ve had in Wisconsin. Our waitress was very happy and congenial, a breath of fresh air to say the least. It was quiet because we enjoyed our meal before the dinner hour. Well be back again when in the area !

I have been driving past the Firehouse Restaurant for over a year wanting to try it out. I finally took my family there and am very glad I did! We went for dinner, we were seated immediately and had a very nice waitress. The food was delicious and the service was one of the top of my list. I needed something, my waitress got it immediately, we never had to wait long for anything. I am very particular when it comes to service. The one thing I hate most is waiting for my check, then having to wait even longer for the waitress to come back to cash me out. In a lot of places I go to it seems I do more waiting than anything. Not at the Firehouse. Our server was very prompt, and I have to admit I tipped her higher than I’ve ever tipped and I tip accordingly to the service. The prices on everything was very reasonable. Although we were there for dinner I did look at the breakfast prices as we love to find new places to eat and they as well were good prices. I highly recommend the Firehouse Restaurant.

We live in Saukville and have been here many times but today’s experience was horrible. I ordered blueberry pancakes and my husband ordered apple cinnamon crepes. His crepes were actually cold to the touch and my pancakes were only cooked on one side. I don’t know what led me to flip them over and look because I never do that. The pancakes had a lot of holes on the uncooked side but they had obviously never been flipped on to that side. When we told our waitress she simply said that’s the way they always are. She never even offered to make me new ones. I ate the bacon I had ordered. We paid for that, juice and coffee. We left hungry.

Horrible meal…. ordered our meal my wife got her salad my soup came late. The appetizers showed up after my soup was brought to the table and the meal shortly thereafter before we could finish the appetizers which were chicken tenders. Nothing tender about them. I ordered my rib eye medium well and it was shoe leather fries were nasty. For being 5pm on a saturday night there was noby there. That should have been an indicator. It is to be such a great place. 🙁

Ordered fish fry and tuna melt to go. Said it would be ready in 20 minutes. Got there inn 20. Containers didn’t feel warm. 3 minute drive home. Fish lost battered coating on bottom and was cold and slimy. Fries were barely warm and chewy. My friend took 2 bites of her tuna melt, said it was cold and pushed her plate away. Waste of money.

So, I visited the Firehouse right after it opened a couple (few?) years ago. On that visit I ordered a “not inexpensive” cheeseburger and requested lettuce tomato and mayonnaise. Upon paying the bill, I noticed an additional charge, 50 cents for lettuce, 50 cents for tomato, and 75 cents for mayonnaise. I was shocked, but figured I must have missed that on the menu. At least they didn’t charge for ketchup for my fries (perhaps that day is coming). A few weeks later, I took my family to the Firehouse, and checked the menu. There was no information about extra charges for what I consider standard condiments. That upset me, and I did reach out to the owner/manager via telephone later that week. When I called, I explained my purpose for calling, and was told the manager was too busy to talk to me. No request for a call back number was given. About six months later, I visited again with my family and asked the wait staff about the charge. The staff explained that there was an additional charge, but that it was still not on the menu. She told me she would say something to the owner who was there that night. I was later told that the owner said they were going to add a note to the menu…still no visit from the owner/manager. I suppose I had hoped for too much to expect a personal explanation. I now resist going here, however being one of the only three places to eat in Saukville, I am “forced” to give this place my business on occasion simply for convenience. I went again this past week, and mark my words, NEVER AGAIN. I ordered a chicken sandwich, which was almost $9, and got a sandwich that had a breast that was so anemic that I suspect the chicken it came from was on it’s last legs…so to speak. Service has always been adequate, but the three legged table of value, quality and service lacks severely on value and quality. If you have ANY other options that are even remotely palatable, please go elsewhere. The management should be ashamed and embarrassed at their own lack of attention to details and quality. Perhaps they will reach out to me this time…

Being a gal who has worked in customer service for 10+ years, I very seldom complain about other people who do a similar job, but I feel the need to say something about the Firehouse.
We tried the Firehouse tonight for the first time. We walked in and a few of the tables were filled. We waited about 5 minutes to be seated. There were no waitresses in sight. We waited 5 minutes.. the bartender looked over at us a few times and never said a word. You would think maybe, “Hello! Someone will be right with you.” Nope. She finally sauntered over and just said, “Two?” I said, “Yes, thank you.” She put down our menus and said, “Your waitress will be right with you.”
Finally our waitress came around and asked for our drink order. After she came back and we placed our order, I waited about 15 minutes for her to bring out my soup that came with the meal. I had to even ask her if she could bring it out. I just thought that was protocol to bring soup or salad out first.
About 20 minutes later our meal came. My steak sandwich was extremely undercooked. I asked for medium & it came bloody. I should have probably said something, but at that point we were so frustrated with the service, we just wanted to leave. The waitress didn’t come back for sometime after our meal arrived, and I needed some steak sauce and napkins. I got up out of the booth and walked to the kitchen, where I saw our waitress laughing and joking with the cook. I asked for what I needed and she came out and said, “Sorry about that.”
Needless to say, we will never be going back. The service was poor.. to say the least. The food was mediocre at best. Not a place I would ever recommend.
