Family-owned and run, this new restaurant surprised me in many ways. The potatoes that form the base for the wide variety of available toppings are outstanding by themselves-enormous, flavorful, baked to perfection. The menu has a wide variety of options to top/customize your spud; each one we tried was packed with flavor. No salt was needed. I consider that as a mark of great food. This establishment is not pretentious-you get great food assembled to order very quickly as you go down the line to the register by friendly and efficient staff. Be warned-one loaded potato will be both lunch and dinner that day…the portions are mighty.

We absolutely love Load A Spud, but the hours have been so on and off recently we haven’t been able to visit. We finally were able to visit when they were open, and it was towards closing so I totally understand the lack of preparedness. They were out of half of the proteins and didn’t bother to tell us until we were there for 3 minutes. The food was okay at best but it’s not something I’d consider paying for.

1st time here my lady lives in the zoo been bragging about it, now I see why.. I’m a huge potatoe head eat them anyway possible, these are the ish….huge n they not stingy w toppings hmm hmm yum, I know it sounds crazy but I’ normally use french onion dip/ Philadelphia cream cheese on bake tatoes sour cream I only use in tacos anyhow,, amazing y’all need open one these here in south bend/mishawaka areas I PROMISE YOU’LL MAKE A KILLING JS..
