So this was my first time eating here. I have eaten from Simmer a few times, but they are temporarily closed. I was excited to try IB after seeing the reviews, but after trying it I would say I prefer Simmer. Something about the flavor was missing for us in the curry chicken and goat. We also had the Pepper Steak and I wasn’t thrilled. It’s the first time we ever tried that dish though so I would have to compare it to Simmer’s. Portions are HUGE for the money paid. Make sure you order early because most of the main dishes are sold out by 4 pm. We ordered at 5:30 on a Wednesday and the only dishes available were Curry Chicken, Curry Goat, and Pepper Steak. Owner/worker was very friendly. I would give 3.5 stars if Google allowed…

The first time I went there I got the shrimp rasta pasta with jerk chicken. Portions were right on point and so were the flavors. Today I brought my daughter there and ordered the exact same thing and it was nothing like the first time. The chicken was BBQ not jerk and they gave us the smaller container with barely any shrimp. I would love to support local business but not when you can’t be consistent. I definitely got got for 60.00 dollars today and am annoyed and disappointed.

I ordered ackee & fish. They do not give a lot, picture Is after I ate the cabbage and some ackee. The cabbage and ackee was minimal and as you see they overloaded it with rice. The ackee was out on top of rice on the side of the container so it’s not as much as it appears to be. While the food is good, the lack of how much ackee they provide is disappointing.
They also don’t offer boiled dumpling which is the only kind I eat so that’s why there is rice instead. I’d much prefer boiled dumplings over fried dumplings or rice. If I’m craving it I’ll order if my dad can’t bring any from the Bronx, but that’s only because I’m pregnant and sometimes you just want something.

GOOD VIBES! A coworker and I came out in this area for work for the afternoon we’re from two hours away. There’s not many Jamaican restaurant options around us. We stopped for some Jamaican beef patties and left with a lot more! Lol..The food was phenomenal. The manager was extremely sweet, very gracious. The prices were very fair. The next time we come out to this area, we will definitely be coming here again!!! If you haven’t tried it, you definitely need to. It was an awesome experience all the way around. Good vibes! ❤️❤️❤️

The woman there is very rude without customer service skills. She doesn’t have to yell at people the minute they walk through the door for an order repeatedly. It’s easy to say it’s not quite ready nicely. I noticed a rotten smell in the restaurant too. I wouldn’t support such a rude small business owner. It’s really sad because it’s not hard to just be kind to one another.

The food is good, but I spent $26 dollars on. 2 sides of Oxtail. .. .. .. in which I had more broth, carrots and potatoes in both containers than actual meat. If your going to charge that much for just a side of Oxtail only include the oxtail
