Family has a Taiwanese/South Korean/Chinese background, so they serve authentic cuisine from these and other cultures. They speak fluent Mandarin.
Service is quick and they have a chill/unexpected taste in music. The staff here are also super chill. Some of my favorites here are the miso ramen with soy fish (it’s super umami and creamy), the crispy soy chicken, and the Amy spiced tofu.
I also like that there’s always tons of free parking in the parking lot where Garden Fresh is located.
They have a lunch special that runs from 11 to 1. Be forewarned that anything past 12 all the good stuff is gone. Lunch special is first come first serve and it can’t be phoned in.
Now they have bottled their delicious chill oil . I drizzle that stuff all over my food
Give them a try!!! I suggest phoning your order in as they do get busy (excluding the lunch special)
3.75 Star. Combo Food Selection
* Less than $10 for 4 items combo that comes with soup plus a $0.50 brown rice upgrade (standard comes with white rice). Note to self: order just half-bowl of brown rice upgrade for $0.25 next time. Plenty of rice.
* 10 items selection available in total. Options vary daily. May not see the same items next time. Toward the late afternoon, once an item runs out, they do not restock. What you see is what you get.
* Some dishes are not salty at all, while some are over salted. Gotta pick the right combo items though, otherwise, the meal doesn’t feel complete.
* Had a homy taste to it, not something I’ll crave for, but at least it’s healthy and on some days I just need more of it to detox.
* My kids don’t care for it though. So it’s hard to feed them here.
5 Star. Drinks & Dessert. Organic, healthy, vegan.
* Lavender Lemonade was good. Had the lavender look, but only the lemonade taste, sweetened with brown sugar. Plus a few pieces of whole blueberries in the cup. I need to ask for 1/2 the sugar next time.
* Vegan Ice Cream was good. But since it’s soy-based, having too much of this left a funny after-effect on my tongue. I’d still buy it next time. Just don’t overdose on it.
3 Star. Service. Typical nonchalant Taiwanese matter-of-fact style. Come in with this level of expectation and you won’t be disappointed. Traffic is surprisingly steady at noon. All the tables filled up by 1 pm. No trash can available in sight. There are a few brown containers toward the back to place your trays & trash (unlabeled). Not used to this, but I respect it.
3 Star. Decor. Average unattractive mom-and-pop hole-in-the-wall style. But clean, neat and organized. Menu display can use a makeover though. It seems to be all over the place (wall, counter, paper, regular menu…) and I had to figure my way around what’s there to order the first time I came. By the 4th or 5th time, I’m still looking around all over the place to figure out what I want to order.
2 Star. Parking. Located in a very run-down little plaza with super tight and narrow parking spaces. I always hated parking here with the feeling of possibly scratching parallel cars or bumping into cars behind me while backing out. The tiny plaza needs a renovation.
