I am obsessed with matcha lattes and have tried a bunch of coffee shops in the Cambridge/Boston area and Phinista is my #1 go-to spot.

Service is always great and staff are friendly. Drinks always come out fast.

My go-to is an iced matcha latte with oat milk, 50% sweetness. Their matcha is ceremonial grade and the perfect strength. At other places I usually have to ask to double the matcha, but here their 5 gram serving is perfect. It’s hand whisked and not a prepped concentrate which is important.

Have also tried their rice bowls and breakfast croissants and loved both. Ooh and their cinnamon rolls are so yummy!

Atmosphere is a cute vibe. Couches are available to sit at as well as high top counters which you can sit at to people watch, and other tables and chairs. It’s usually busy, but I can always find a table to work at. WiFi is available which is also a plus. May sometimes be spotty though. Overall, love this spot.

This is such a cute cafe with delicious food. My friend and I shared crepes and the Bahn mi sandwich, both of which were phenomenal. The bahn mi especially – I wish I had my own order after eating half of it. I also got the ube matcha which was delicious. Service was friendly and fast. Only downside was seating is very limited inside. Overall, 10/10 will go back.

Arguably the best matcha I’ve had in the Greater Boston area. Love the Pandan, Ube and Strawberry Matcha. Not too sweet and the matcha flavor is rich & earthy (very well-balanced).

Such a nice cafe to work/study in as well as have food throughout the day.

The BBQ chicken bahn mi is so good. The baguette is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The BBQ chicken is really tender and flavorful as well.

My favorite are the strawberry matcha , ube matcha and pandan matcha with almond milk and less sweet. For a seasonal drink, they had banana bread matcha and this was top tier (hope they bring it back).

Their pastries and sweet treats are so underrated. The pistachio muffin was nutty, not too sweet and moist with chunks of walnuts and pistachios. Their matcha cheesecake was so decadent as well.

Worth the almost two hour walk to this cafe! Coffee was amazing. I ordered the iced saigonese and iced phin drip latte (it went by a different name on the menu). The thing that blew me away was the service. The barista was more than happy to let my dog and I wait inside while it was frigid out and she even made a pup cup for him without asking! Love the service! Will definitely be back again! Also I got so hungry I devoured the ube pastry. Apparently the ube custard is only available on the weekends FYI.

Stayed here for a good 2hrs. Tried their Bahn mi and cinnamon bun. All are good. They have sockets everywhere which makes it an ideal place to work/study. Window seats are the best for people watching.

During my stay, I heard 2 strangers share their stories on why they are in Boston. This experience made me see the beauty in talking to strangers, which is not advisable where I live in. Kind people.

strawberry matcha was great, i think all the drinks are one size but you also get a choice of milk and more sweet/less sweet. milk alternatives are an additional charge. for some reason there were a couple black peppercorns in my drink (?) but aside from that you could actually taste the matcha and there was a good balance of flavors overall.

the service was veryyy mid, and i’m usually very lenient with service workers but this was kinda cray. i was waiting in line with no one in front of me, and there were 3/4 people behind the counter laughing and having a conversation for a few minutes before acknowledging my existence and taking my order.

went on a friday afternoon and it was packed to the brim with students working on laptops. there’s free wifi and it seems like more of a sit down place, but food and drinks can be taken to go. don’t expect to find a seat on the weekends.

One of my fav places to grab a coffee and snack! It’s always so busy here but it’s because it’s worth it! The Ube Phin is great, with coffee and Ube flavoring coming through really nicely! The Ube milk tea is not bad but very milky, not a must try.

Pandan bun was very fluffy and had great texture! I just wish the Pandan flavor was stronger, even with the top part you could barely taste it, so it was more just a nice sweet bun. The food here looks so good though, can’t wait to try it and some of their other drinks next time I come!

Edit: Came back for the Breakfast skillet and it’s 100% worth it. A whole baguette with pickle on the side goes perfectly with a Vietnamese sampler platter of meats, egg, cheese, and tomato sauce. It’s a lot but so incredibly good!

Love this place! It’s very popular and cozy on weekdays. I wish their matcha dosages would be more consistent, I bought matcha lattes when it was way less busy and it was significantly weaker compared to the one I’m having right this moment. I’m a little disappointed… Hope they can become more consistent to deliver a quality product for everyone.

Regardless, they use ceremonial grade for their lattes— which is completely different from regular chains that opt for the mass produced, cheaper baking matcha. It’s the main reason why I’m coming back.

Great space to chat or do your own thing. Specialty desserts and drinks available. I didn’t like the Ube drink tho..

I came for the coffee and was pleasantly surprised at the menu options. Their Green Tea Strawberry Matcha was superb! The service was great overall but ended up waiting over 30 minutes for a BQQ Rice Bowl.
