We came on a Friday night with high hopes, thanks to the rave reviews online. We were one of only two tables, but were immediately told by the staff that there were only two people working and we might have a wait. We understood, and placed our order for six people.
Unfortunately, from that point on, everything was a struggle. We had to chase down our server for our drinks, extra plates, and napkins. While the food itself was actually quite good, the plates came out steaming hot without any warning, and we constantly felt like a bother just to get basic service. The constant follow-up needed on our part completely overshadowed the quality of the meal. This was one of the rare times that Google reviews have completely failed us.

I wish I would’ve gotten more enchiladas! I had no idea they were gonna be that good! I definitely wouldn’t hear Again and I highly recommend this place! The staff was very friendly and Helpful!

The quesabirrias are the best I’ve ever had. I keep getting quesabirrias up and down the west coast and even in Mexico, but these are still unequalled. Hand made tortillas, generous on cheese and meat, perfectly crispy, and the consomé is delicious too. Sometimes service is slow because of limited staff. I don’t care, it’s still worth it! I eat here every time I’m in Mariposa. In fact I’ve had quesabirrias for every meal the last three days!!

Authentic mexican food. Quite good. I had enchiladas con cecina, Michoacán style. I liked them.
The restaurant is OK for a casual dinner. Nothing fancy.
The service was mixed… The young man who took our order was not particularly friendly nor helpful. But the older man, who was in the kitchen, and I assume was the father, was very friendly and helpful.

Tasty food. Excellent service. Some of the best garlic shrimp (camarones al mojo de ajo) I have ever tried. Tacos are great as well tripa was nice and crunchy. Combination taco was tasty as well Horchata water is delicious as well.

We got into Mariposa at about 1pm and was recommended by our Airbnb host to try out Nayo’s for their tacos.
We ordered the super tacos which have avocado and mozzarella on top of the regular tacos.
The carnitas are by far the best ones I ever had (but I’m from Singapore where there are not much Mexican food, so take what you want from it).
You can skip the chicken tacos if you want to, its not much.
The staff was really nice and friendly but the place seemed a lil bit too dark for the afternoon.

The food here was very good. What I found uncomfortable was they don’t provide prices on the menu?! When I asked for a menu with prices, the counter person said the prices are only in the computer… What??!! Because of this, I only ordered two basic tacos, pastor and Birria that were really good. The price was about $6.50 with tax.

Chicken super tacos were spectacular. Meals are served with soup which was so needed after the cold outside.

Kuta Cakes
Stopped by starving and this was the best decision I made today. I got a sope with carnitas con todo. I am definitely going to make the drive back with the family and try more of the menu.
