We had stopped going a few months back because the staff and quality had gone so far down. Last week my daughter begged to go so we did. It was a complete turnaround. New staff and management was polite and welcoming and the food was back to the quality I had came love 10 years ago at the St. Charles location. I waited to write a review because I thought it might be a fluke but tonight the food again exceeded my expectations. Truly the best meal I have had at any of the locations, and I have ate at them all. My kids have their favorite dinner spot back.

This place takes entirely too long. I’m s not like they have to cook it. They’re practically just reheating the food. Once we finally received our food everything was good EXCEPT the corn pudding (which is the main reason we go). It was very very sour. When I called them to make them to let them know they didn’t pick up. (It was 10 mins to close). So over all pretty good food but not for what you pay for. Go somewhere else

The atmosphere was cool; Kind of cafeteria style but with better service and better food. The Little shopping center it was in was quaint, especially for the areas around it. I wasn’t too impressed with the Po’ Boy I got. It was good. Not as good as others I had in NO. Same with BBQ sandwich. Good, not great. But my kids loved their food and ate all of it. So that’s a big plus.

I’m a vegetarian, but my wife wanted it for lunch, so here I am. I ordered a garden salad and it came out with bacon on it, even though the menu only listed vegetables. I spent some time picking all the bacon off. I’m not going to hold that against them, since it is a meat-dominated menu. I just thought it was worth mentioning.
The staff was extremely friendly. The manager asked how everything was and the cook made some friendly conversion when he wasn’t cooking. My wife mentioned that she didn’t get the cornbread that was supposed to come with her meal and the lady brought her two to make up for it.
According to my wife and mother-in-law, the food is really good. The only think that I enjoyed was the corn bread, which was delicious. The cole slaw was sub-par.
The only reason I took a star off was because the cleanliness was not good. The floor was dirty and the tables weren’t clean. When I sat down, I had to wet some napkins and wipe down our area.
Overall, great service. I recommend VooDoo to all meat eaters.

Being from Alabama, as well as having been a barbecue cook myself, I know good BBQ… and this is NOT it.
I decided to call in an order to the Manhattan store in Harvey because I hadn’t had any BBQ in LA since moving down last month. I decided to order my girlfriend and I each a brisket topped loaded baked potato, and some macaroni and cheese. The girl who took my call informed me that it would be a little extra time for the potatoes to be finished. I said that was fine, we didn’t mind, and was told my order would be available for pickup in 15 minutes. I picked up the order, got it home, and could not have been more disappointed. The brisket was dry and pretty much flavorless, it looked like some over microwaved frozen garbage. I decide to work through the crummy brisket in hopes that the loaded baked potato would be more satisfying… I was wrong. One inch into the potato I realized that it was only about 40% cooked, and couldn’t be farther from loaded. After actually cooking the potatoes the rest of the way in my own microwave, I picked at what was at least somewhat palatable and subsequently gave up. We decided to give the mac & cheese a try. I don’t know why I thought it would be any better. It also tasted like some prepackaged microwaved and stirred-up processed garbage. This has got to be one of the worst restaurants I have ever eaten from in the entire state of Louisiana, and maybe just about anywhere! I would not recommend this place to any person, and would actually go is far as to tell people NOT to go there.

I was visiting New Orleans for the week and had been searching for a good jambalaya all week. Finally, we stopped here at Voodoo BBQ and the entire experience was amazing. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and The restaurant was very clean. I recommend this place for anyone in search of some good food and atmosphere.

Only reason why I am giving this place a one star is due to the fact the voodoo chips tasted amazing and half or zeto stars are not an option. I ordered the pulled pork platter and my wife ordered the jerk chicken platter. Pulled pork platter was cold, the jerk chicken was rough and I could just look at it and tell it was dry. Have to admit the voodoo chips were good but that’s about it.

This was my first and last time visiting voodoo BBQ. I can honestly say this was one of the worse experience I have ever had with a “restaurant” and I use the term loosely. I ordered loaded French fries and reiterated several times that I do not eat meat please do not put meat on my food. My girlfriend ordered a loaded shrimp tater. We waited 35 mins for the food. When it arrived to the table the fries were filled with bacon. The potato was cold, dry and only had a sprinkle of cheese and a few shrimp on top. There was hair on the side of the potato bowl. I went to the counter, told the cashier about the issue and requested a refund. She was very polite and begin to try and process my refund. The manager, who heard my complaint, did not say one word to me. She offered no apology or help. She continued to walk pass the cashier as she struggled to process my refund. The cashier had to call someone else to walk her through refunding my card. This was an overall horrible experience. I spent an hour at Voodo BBQ and still had to go elsewhere to eat dinner. Please do not waste your time or money at this restaurant.
