Enjoying a little trip to Thomaston! If you’d like to try a mix of an American breakfast with a Mexican twist, this place is the best option in the area… I truly enjoyed it. Excellent service

First time visiting and we will definitely be back.
It was also pleasantly surprising to get the best cup of coffee a restaurant has given me in many years.
The staff was warm and friendly.
The service was excellent.
I shouldn’t have to point this out but the chorizo in my breakfast has some spice to it. I loved it. Not the bland stuff I get everywhere else.

I’ve been coming to Esme & Rubys for the last several months. The coffee WAS delicious. The menu WAS amazing. Fast forward to June 2025… & I’m extremely unhappy with the direction that the restaurant is going.
Their new menus look great… physically and aesthetically… but their options are now very limited, pricing is also higher than previously.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND, the restaurant is only open for breakfast & lunch. That being said…
My husband LOVED the Philly Cheesesteak Grinder. It was delicious and always his go to. We come in on a planned date only to find out it’s no longer available. Waitress checked & yes, they could still make it… yet they offer no grinder type bread… so that obviously won’t work.
I understand that the restaurant is under new ownership, but this is just sad. I really hope things take a turn for the better because I’m not sure that I’ll return at this point.

The Pulled Pork omelet was filled with very fatty meat. It was also dry which is unappealing. The Bacon Cheddar Omelet was good, but different than last time. Previously there had been a cheddar cheese sauce, this time it was just melted cheddar. But it was still ok. A bit pricey though in my opinion.

A very friendly place with a welcoming atmosphere, where the staff treat you like family. The coffee comes from a local roaster and is quite good. The American breakfasts are tasty and there are several excellent Mexican options on the menu including my favorite, chilaquiles with a green chile sauce. Homemade scones are also a plus!

I really enjoyed my breakfast there. Had a Mexican breakfast but skipped the beans for home fries . The best I’ve had for a while. Went here with a old friend we try to do breakfast once a month to stay in touch. I wish the enchiladas were a bit bigger for the price. Coffee was supper. I even got the bottom of the pot I drink it black soni know good coffee. The waitress was so nice. .

I was looking for a restaurant that is different for breakfast and I found it in Esme’s and Ruby’s!
I had a breakfast burrito with eggs, Mexican sausage, peppers and onions and cheese with a side of their potatoes and i literally was in heaven! Every bite was out of this world! I usually only eat half of my food and yet i could not stop and i ate every bite!
I was so excited about this meal i forgot to take a pic!
Well…you will have to see for yourself!
I am sitring here on a Saturday morning anxious to wake up hubby and go to breakfast!
Just saying…but this is my sleeping time because i am a nigbt owl and yet…i can’t sleep because i want to go and see what else i can try for breakfast!

They make the tastiest scones i have ever had from scratch!
I had an apple and cinnamon flavor and hubby had a fruit flavor and both were huge and delicious!
I shall get pics today!
Btw… the owner owns Senor Panchos next door and they are really great people who have experience in the restaurant business. They eventually plan to have a dinner menu but for now they serve breakfast and lunch.
