Bread is awesome. Italian beef was good, giardinara was great. Note the sandwich pic is ripped in half, traded halves for half of a sub that was also delightful. I’ll be back if I’m in the neighborhood.

This is a great place to pop in a grab a sub or a quick slice. Feels like a neighborhood deli with great service and a welcoming atmosphere. I enjoyed seeing Joe waving to locals walking by outside in between making sandwiches!

I got there not realizing they were about to close but the girl working was SO nice and welcoming (I didn’t catch her name unfortunately). The atmosphere was great, super cute inside! She threw in a couple cookies for me and left me wanting to come back ASAP! The sandwich was so yummy, I got the “it’s a me Mario” sub. The pistachio spread on it! OMG! Can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend.

Had the carb dashion without chips. Absolutely amazing. Had the Mario 1st time around and was amazing. Friendly staff, fresh food. They don’t make sandwich shops like this anymore. Glad to have them!

I stopped in for a meatball sandwich and instantly had to grab a second one—it was that good! I also tried the “It’s Me Mario” sandwich, and both were absolutely exquisite. The hospitality here is warm and sincere, which makes the experience even better.

On top of the incredible sandwiches, they offer amazing sweets—the lemon and chocolate chip cookies are a must-try. Villa Park truly has a new gem, and I’m all for it. 10/10 recommend!

Originally from the Chicago area, I moved to LA 30 years ago and miss the pizza and Italian beef sandwiches. Yesterday, I was on my way from O’Hare to Northwest Indiana after a long 10 hour flight from a vacation cut short in Hawaii to see my dad in the hospital, so I was tired, stressed, and hungry. I found this place online since it was on my way home. Lucky I did. The beef sandwich was great. Good bread, tender, juicy, delicious meat sliced correctly, with cheese and giardiniera. After I paid, the guy at the bar asked me if I wanted a drink. I just wanted water and he gave me a bottle. He gave my cousin a can of soda. We asked how much for both and he said “no charge” and he wished my father well. Great place with down to earth guys that care about their product, service and customers. So glad I found it. Thank you Mortadeli.

I had the Mario sandwich along with side meatballs, lemon ricotta cookies, and chips, and every bite was fantastic. The staff made the experience even better with their friendly and inviting attitude. This place is a real gem, and I’m thrilled it’s here!

From the moment I walked in with my friends we were greeted by the owner Joe. Despite putting together a separate order of delicious sandwiches he kept up with telling us about his menu and offered his recommendations. After sitting down we found that the bread and meat quality was perfect. You can easily tell this place was built on hard work and the sandwiches made with love. I will be back.

Zero stars if possible. I never write reviews but this goes to the Gaming cafe host. Hes an older man, heavy set and with glasses, Italian guy.. The whole time while gimbling he was loud and cursing and complaining about the female owner While I was playing he was looking at me gambling and when I won , I could tell he wanted a tip. and since I didn’t he was very rude. VERY VERY VERY uncomfortable place to gamble. A bit of advice .. get rid of him or your business will fail. too many places to gamble in the area.

In town visiting family and Mortadeli is such a cute little spots and the food is absolutely delicious. The meatball sub is a solid 10! Couldn’t walk away without a cannoli, and it did not disappoint! Looking forward to our next visit!
