Very good authentic Mexican food. Excellent flavors with prices that won’t break the bank. Even the flour tortillas seemed homemade. Delightful little hole in the wall place with a complete surprising inside as someone said earlier is unassuming rather plane but the inside you can tell the people love making their food and providing good service. Just the kind of place. I’m always looking for a real fun surprise. The tamales were ginormous and the shrimp fajitas with so flavorful and fresh. Definitely coming back with friends to surprise them.

Finding this cozy little Mexican restaurant last night for dinner was a Christmas miracle! The food was great, the service was friendly and very welcoming, the portions were large, the atmosphere was charming and cozy and the prices were very reasonable. They even had kids meals, such as chicken tenders and fries. I did not hear one single complaint from my family of 6 picky eaters – not one! My husband and I just kept repeating “I’m so glad we found this place.”

We had the enchiladas and fajitas de camerones with nachos for our appetizer. Everything was amazing!! The food was cooked perfectly and the portions were generous. On top of that, we came here for my birthday dinner and they were so sweet and brought me out a tiramisu with a candle No joke, that was probably the best tiramisu I’ve ever had! Also, Jair was our server and he was incredibly nice and very helpful ❤️ Highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely be back soon!!

7 of us came to eat at El Charro de Mex-villa restaurant in Lake Villa IL. The place is very warm and welcoming. The food was the best no cap ! We had a lot of fun and with great food too .We really enjoyed our food and time there . Look at the pictures. Bar none best Mexican food restaurant anywhere. Prices were wonderful and so was the service. We are coming here every week from now on. We met the owner and the staff and they were second to none.

Food was top notch. Fresh tasty salsas accompanied great homemade dishes. I had the chicken enchiladas – really good. The staff had great vibes and were just attentive enough. We had a fun conversation with the waiter after our meal. This place deserves a try for anyone in the area.

A great little hidden gem, hole in the wall if you will. Inside is a bit dated however booths are comfortable. Very kind and sweet young man was our server. Food and service was excellent as usual.
