It ain’t no joke – this place does the best Vietnamese sandwichss. And the roasted pork with crispy skin reigns supreme! Hands down. Undisputed champ sandwich. And I’ll tell you the little touches make a big difference — they package their vegetables separately so you can choose how much or if you want to top your sandwich with them; doing this also makes your sandwich less soggy until you’re ready to eat. And they put it all in a nice box for each sandwich.

Very good sandwiches here, gets very crowded here at lunch. They serve all the vegetables separate along with the sauce. The pork belly sandwich is very good. Comes packed in a box. Quick service. I will return and try their other sandwiches.

honestly the best banh mi I’ve had in a while! the crispy pork is so juicy and crispy (ofc). we got lucky because the bread had just come out of the oven so it was crunchy and fresh. the cashier was really friendly and there was even complimentary iced tea. perfect lunch!

Food: a great banh mi spot in town. I thought their crispy pork banh mi was ok, but their grilled pork banh mi was flavorful and tasty.

Service: friendly cashiers and courteous.

Atmosphere: a small shop, simple and clean.

The bread was really light and fluffy inside with a good crunch outside. The pork was delicious and crispy indeed. I got extra pâté but could still barely taste it. As for the dressing and accoutrements they were a little light.
I drove across town on a Sunday because I wanted a banh mi. I’d go again and try a different filling but I probably won’t make it a destination

Crispy indeed and delicious indeed! Well match the reputation! Yesterday I tried some highly recommended Italian sandwich and felt so so, and not holding my breath for this sandwich today, but it surprised me! Very good quality, blended ingredients and balanced flavor, I will definitely come back again!

Not sure how else to put it, but the bread is delicious and they’re generous with the meat. The đặc biệt is hands down my go to especially when I’m in the SGV and craving a solid Vietnamese bánh mì. Also, don’t pass on the xíu mại (savory meatballs).

I’m sad.

This used to be the newest and tastiest banh mi place.

Line out the door. Crispy pork belly. Fresh ingredients.

I’ve eaten this more than 10 times.

If you ask me about 6 months ago this would have been 5 stars

Now for some reason the pork belly isn’t as crispy and isn’t as tasty. Also the price jumped up more than 30%. 10 dollars for a sandwich just isn’t it.

Maybe I’m just reminiscing about when it first opened. Maybe rent went up.

This place is going the direction of severe price increase with decreasing quality of food like all the other places that find initial success.

Will I be a customer? Probably if my friends come over and are in the area because they found something on social media. Probably not a regular spot for me to be excited about anymore.

Was at a Dodgers game when I saw another fan with a few banh mis from Banh Mi How Phat. Was intrigued as they were in a cardboard box vs. being wrapped in a piece of paper.

A quick search revealed that this banh mi shop was sort of on my way to work. No better way to start the work week than with a banh mi for bfast. Called in my order as I was driving in and they were ready for me by the time I arrived.

Though the crispy pork was awesome, I was expecting the pork skin to be crispier. The siu yook had the perfect fat to meat ratio. To be fair, I didn’t eat the banh mi right away and I’m not sure how long they were sitting on the counter waiting for me to pick up. The bread had a nice crunch and the inside had a bit of a bite to it.

Will have to come back and eat one in the store as well as to try their other sandwiches.

Amazing for takeout— the heo quay banh mi and cafe sua da hit the spot! I ordered about 15 minutes in advance on a slower day and the meat and bread were still warm and crispy- delicious!!! I don’t know why people made random negative comments about the sauce- have they never had Heo Quay before? It’s the sauce that normally comes with any roast pork at any roast meat specialty place, and you just add a little to the meat. It was great!! I also added butter to the sandwich and it was perfect!! Will definitely return.
