This small business is a passion project where the owner believes in only providing the best ingredients to be found and cooked fresh according to traditional recipes.
The restaurant is located in a beautiful courtyard where they offer both indoor and outdoor seating.
The service is very friendly and they are always smiling and eager to help.
Hot and Sour Soup $8.99(M)
Pork Pot Sticker $12.99
Pork Wonton w/ Chili $12.99
Orange Peel Chicken $16.99
Steamed Fish Filet $22.99
Eggplant w/ Tofu $15.99
Seaweed Salad $8.99
The Orange chicken was very inconsistent with some great pieces, and other nasty crunchy ones. Tough sell.
Nothing is complimentary here including any rice item, so be prepared. Just pony up for the $20 fried rice… it’s a headlock they put you in.
Egg rolls are solid, but that’s the best item on them menu.
Tried to talk about the Dicy chicken and staff was not friendly about the subject.
Overall not a great experience.
A friend hyped us up to try Min this week, so we gave it a shot. I’ve never ordered Chinese take out and not received at least a “cup” of sticky rice on a $80 order.
I guess I might have ordered some rice if I knew the scam was on?
Then I had no idea that Mushu Pork did not come with the pancake to eat the Mushu pork with…. not sure what to do with that $17.99 order, but that’s another scam.
When I called the pro staff at Min Chinese they said to call someone else for their mistake???
What a complete Bernie Madoff scam!! It’s not my problem!
Still trying to find a reputable Chinese restaurant that has good food and stands behind their business.
What a joke!
Food: we ordered the Mongolian Beef, Honey Walnut Shrimp lunch specials and xiao long bao as an appetizer. We got the xiao long bao first. The taste wasn’t terrible. It didn’t taste that good either. They smack of having sat in the freezer a bit too long and had dried out a bit. So meh it was. 2 out of 5 stars. Would not recommend ordering unless your hankering for XLB is overwhelming.
After the disappointing XLB, Min’s Bistro redeemed itself with the actual lunch specials. Each dish was served with a bowl of rice and a hot an sour soup. The Mongolian Beef was delicious. It was perfectly cooked where the meat was tasty and tender. The onion and scallions were perfectly sautéed nearly to the point of caramelization. By itself, this is a 5-star item.
The Honey Walnut Shrimp were made with a large shrimp. They were shelled and deveined properly. You’d be surprise how many Chinese restaurants don’t deveined their shrimps properly. But Min’s Bistro did an excellent job with it. The taste of the shrimp itself was decent. The mayo was a bit overly much. I’d recommend the kitchen to either cut back on the mayo or do a 2-step stir-frying plus deep-frying process to lend the shrimps with slightly crunchy mayo shells. That would’ve better complemented the honey walnuts. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.
Service & atmosphere: the restaurant is minimalist chic. It looks clean and well maintained. Eddie, our server, did a good job of covering the 4 tables of customer. The service wasn’t super quick. But it wasn’t slow or inattentive either. Anyhow, it’s consistent with other 50-dollar lunch for 2 places.
Conclusion: I would come back to Min’s Bistro if I am ever looking for lunch at Yorba Linda again.
Came for lunch and ordered 1 item from its lunch special and another from its dinner menu. Lunch item was shredded pork with hot garlic sauce, and the other was a half a duck.
Shredded pork was delicious. The duck however was a bit dry – it just tasted like an ordinary smoked duck.
Overall my experience was good and restaurant was tidy.
The orange chicken was prepared with slices of white meat. The noodles was delicious and not greasy. The fish was cooked to perfection and very tender. The place was clean and smelling good. My family and i liked it. I will definitely be back to eat there.
The Kung Pao Three Musketeers was a real hit! Large shrimp, tender chicken breast and beef stir fried with peanuts, scallions and dry red chilies in a fiery spicy sauce blended together to create a spicy dish. Large chunks of meat and onion, and an ample portion leaving plenty for lunch leftovers the next day! Lots of meal choices, fast service, friendly servers, and a pleasant setting near the Center’s bubbling fountain. What a great find.
