We went El Jr Tacos based on reviewes. It is in a quiet part of town, very nice and clean. It is inside of a very nice liquor store that is very well stocked. You go in and place your order, then pay at the liquor store counter. We ordered bean and cheese burritos, I was told many years ago, if a place can’t make a good bean and cheese then it probably can’t make much of anything else and these folks make a killer bean and cheese burrito! Very large and tasty their salsas are also really good! We can’t wait to try more of what they have to offer! The place is really nice, clean and cute. Jr. and his wife? Are super nice and told us about other things like the farmers market on Thursdays to do in the area. We will definitely be back! Also the burrito was even better the next day!!

This is an absolute GEM of a taco shop. Some of the best tacos I’ve ever had anywhere, full stop. I was visiting family in Palm desert and saw this taco place with a 5 star rating so I had to try for myself. It was worth the 35 minute drive and I wish I had more time because I would’ve eaten here any chance I got. The owner and staff are super friendly as well which is always a bonus. It’s located in a convenient store with a couple tables outside if you want to sit and eat your tacos. It’s a grab and go style counter vs a sit down restaurant. Lots of parking available. I ate tacos everyday for the 4 days I was in town and these were without a doubt, the best I had. I cannot WAIT to return

JR Tacos is my favorite spot for authentic carne asada and queso birria tacos. It always hits and I never get tired of them! Never dry and very flavorful! Their green creamy salsa is my favorite to pair with their tacos; the right amount is spice! I love this place and have been going here for lunch on my work days very often. I even had them cater for my husbands birthday and everyone loved their food. In conclusion, if you want mom and pops mexican food this is the place to go! Also the owners are husband and wife, super sweet people! ✨

The food is legit. No place to sit inside since it’s a liquor store, so we took our food to a nearby park. The tacos are small but really good. Spent $20 and got 5 different tacos. All were good.

This has been my go-to spot for lunchtime Mexican food for a few years now. The burritos are huge and so good! Everyone working there is so friendly and personable. I find myself chatting to them the whole time while I’m waiting for my order. As soon as they extend their hours into the evening, I’ll be going here twice as often!

By far my absolute favorite place in Palm Springs, that I have found for a quick, easy and absolutely mouth wateringly delicious meal. This semi-hidden gem is a real treasure of the low desert and I make it a weekly mission to try to stop by and grab lunch on my way to work. For a slice of corner store comfort, with the quality and flavor of food that puts sit down restaurants to shame; you can’t get better than El JR Tacos. If you haven’t already give the California Burrito a try but you truly can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

I don’t normally leave reviews, but this place is an easy 5/5. Quesabirria tacos are a must-try, full of flavour. We came all the way from Canada to try these tacos and they don’t disappoint!

First time finding out of this spot in Palm Springs, CA, came here during my lunch and it was the best decision I could have made for the day. Aside from the excellent customer service, the food was delicious. The quesabirria and shrimp burrito SMACK. 11/10 Se los recomiendo!

Tucked away inside the liquor store is a great taco place. The staff is friendly and made great recommendations. Pro tip, you order at the deli counter and pay at the liquor store counter at the front of the store. The food was authentic and delicious, great place to grab a good bite of food that isn’t subjected to ridiculous California prices. Will be back again ☺️ thanks to the great staff again!
