I had lunch here today with my sons. We really enjoyed it here. The food and service were outstanding. I had the Epic Burger and that thing was huge. I really think that this could be a food challenge item for the Boulder Tap House. We are definitely coming back here.

Enjoyed our lunch today. The pepper jack cheese curds and soft pretzels were a good tasting appetizer. The pepper jack wasn’t spicy, but added a nice flavor. Would be nice if a marinara sauce was made available for the curds, but the dipping sauce that came with it was good too. Had the build a burger and a drink. Will definitely be back

Pam and I met with my Class of 1968 at the Boulder Tap House in Ankeny Thursday for our monthly luncheon. This restaurant is pretty new and we’ve been wanting to try it out and lucky for us my class of 1968 chose it.
I ordered a Cuban Sandwich which featured sliced ham, pork carnitas, Swiss cheese, red cabbage,
sliced pickles and Dijonnaise served on a pressed
ciabatta loaf. For my side I picked a cup of Black Bean Chili, topped with shredded cheese. Both were clear off the charts delicious.
Pam ordered a Bacon Boulder Smash Burger which features
two smashed 4oz Angus burger patties,
2 slices of American cheese, pecan smoked
bacon, Pabst onions, Alabama white sauce and
butter leaf lettuce, tomato and pickles. Served
on a toasted bun. I didn’t have a chance to try a bite but she was exceedingly pleased with her pick, neither one of us left remotely hungry. Our server did an amazing job, despite the fact we were a large group, our orderers were quickly taken and arrived at our table promptly.
Pam and I will for sure be returning next time we’re in Ankeny and hungry, lots of really good tasty entrees to try.

This place has one of the best burgers in Des Moines. The fries were nice and crispy, but not too crispy, and the lemonade was fresh squeezed. Will certainly be back to Boulder Tap House.

First time visitors today! WIDE assortment of appetizers and main dishes. Prompt and friendly waiter, food was served quickly and hot! Wife had Brown Sugar Cheddar Burger with fries and I had the Tenderloin with fries. (pic) Lots of TVs to watch your game, and clean restrooms. Keep up the good work Boulder Tap House!

I’ve been there three times. Avocado fries are amazing crunch on the outside soft and delectable on the inside. There cheese curds are amazing. They are cubes that you can order three different ways. The wings are not breaded but they are large and the mango habernero sauce I ordered on the side for everything. The Margaritas are cheap a 22oz for 7 dollars. They have Tajin rims if you ask. Only complaint, if you are in the back of the restaurant it can be chilly. So bring a coat. Otherwise love this place.

New restaurant in Ankeny, in the Old Chicago place. It’s newly remodeled and has a nice atmosphere. The food was delicious. I had the fish tacos fried, and the mango salsa was yummy. The side of rice was tasty but dry. My friend had the brown sugar bacon cheese burger. With the ranch french fries. Ranch favor wasn’t overwhelming. Took home an order of beer batter FF for a friend. They were good, just way too much salt. I am looking forward to going back. Sean did a good job as our waiter.

Great food! Services was really good. The only thing we didn’t really like was coming in, two hours till close, and having a waitress/busser look at us, look at her watch and roll her eyes a bit.

We went to Boulder Tap for supper tonight. We’re usually not trying new places people. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Jennifer was an amazing server, with a huge personality. They were very busy, and she rocked it. The shakes were SO good. We all had cheeseburgers and fries. It took a long time to get our food, but we weren’t worried about it. We were enjoying some family time. Without us saying a word, Jennifer talked to her manager, and they made it right with us. The burgers and fries were excellent. We also had the pretzel sticks with cheese sauce. They were fantastic. I highly recommend giving this establishment a try.
