Early lunch on a Saturday, 11:00 a.m. We were in the area visiting cemeteries and I had done a bit of research prior to our visit, finding a couple of places that looked good, the Corner Cafe was the first place we came to, so it was the one. As the name implies it’s a small town cafe/diner. It is a seat yourself place. At the time it was about half full, so we had no trouble finding a table for 4. I had the Greek omelette hash browns and a side of pancakes. There was also a side of tzatziki sauce. I was torn between the omelette and the breakfast shoe, I decided to a bit out of normal and got the omelette. It had gyro meat, tomatoes, onions and feta cheese. It was very good. There was also a crispy chicken salad with poppyseed dressing and two Reuben sandwiches with fries at the table. I sampled the fries and they were very good. I was told the salad and sandwiches were also very good.

Great food. Absolutely amazing wait staff! Very fiendly every single time my wife and I get breakfast. Coffees are ALWAYS kept full. The manager is top notch and very in tune with everything that is happening in the restaurant. We go here multiple times a month and have never had a bad experience.

Decided to edit my review after seeing some of the negative Nancy’s reviews. If u think their food is expensive or mediocre for the price you’re out of your mind and or don’t go out to eat much. Generic food products? They use one of the same food distributors that every other establishment uses Their prices are on par with other similar establishments if not cheaper. To the person that said they waited 45 mins for their food…. I’ve dined here numerous times & I doubt I’ve ever had to wait 20 minutes. Were u there on a day they were super busy & or understaffed? This place is a gem for Petersburg. If u really want expensive, bland & mediocre food then take your butt down the street to Hardee’s.

Had lunch with friends there on 8-16 great service as usual food was just good. We have been coming here since it first opened and the food just wasn’t as we remembered but it’s still a good place to eat. Another note is we always came in for breakfast and it was really good.

We stopped by after a morning at New Salem Historical Area. Cafe was not too busy and the food was amazing. Great choice. Much nicer than the chain restaurants we passed on the outside of town. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They refilled my water serval times due to the heat outside.

Pat Cannedy wrote a bad review. He also left out out alot of information. He has argued with THREE different servers at the Corner Cafe. Three different servers. Funny how no one else ever has a problem. He didn’t try to have a chat with the manager, he came in and screamed at her in front of the whole restaurant. Vicki is a professional and handled it with class. Pat not so much. Pat is no longer allowed back into the cafe. Don’t be like Pat.

The people here are awesome. I came in with only tap to pay (which they don’t have) and they made it work. Then they brought out an omelet so incredibly silky, I didn’t even know it was possible to make eggs like that. Probably the best omelet I’ve ever had, anywhere.
