Didn’t eat so don’t know about the food. First impression was cold although I saw many friends there. Wines from all over the world are what captured my attention. The ones I tried I gave away. I will try it again on a day when there’s less foot traffic to see if my experience is different

Burgunddies is new to Petersburg, Virginia, as of this week. Was looking so forward to the opening and very pleased with our visit.

Great wine from all over the world. Burgundy is very particular with the type of wine she purchases and shares, but she can and will explain each in detail.

I highly recommend checking out this wine bar. It is very quaint, quiet, relaxing, and interesting. It’s very different from your ordinary wineries and vineyards, allowing you to try new varietals.

Have been back to visit multiple times. Still enjoy visiting even to just say, ‘Hi’ and enjoy a sip of wine and/or commune with staff.

I spent a lovely afternoon at Burgandie’s today enjoying their quite ample hummus board and a glass of wine. I was hesitant at first after reading a recent review sort of insinuating the owner was/is racist. I didn’t get that feeling at all! Possibly that individual was off her meds? I plan to bring in all of my co-workers — where I am the only Caucasian — for a post-holiday celebration where we can celebrate living and working together instead of being divisive.

Come for the food, drink, hospitality and racial harmony!

What a fun place to stop in and have a delightful glass of wine. There are some food options available. There are plenty of interesting places to sit and enjoy the company of your friends and even some fun little games or things that you can use while you’re there. Wonderful experience. Looking forward to going back.

Outstanding wine and food! Impeccable service! I love the chill vibe. Bring your knitting or a book, chat with someone at the bar all while enjoying a glass of wine. They have various events going on as well. This is such a welcome place in Old Town!

The place was quaint a beautiful atmosphere very quiet and a homey vibe. However the service seemed under par. The staff although friendly not very informative about the wine and the owner who i had the pleasure of speaking with briefly was very dismissive towards me and didnt want to seem to explain much to me or talk to me. She had no problem having a full blown conversation with the next gentleman that came in and ordered to tea. I couldn’t help but think if it had to do with the fact that my husband who was with me who is black and my newborn that was with me. We had never been to this establishment and me and my husband were wasting time waiting for my ring to be sized and thought we would try this wine spot. Im kind of disappointed and was hoping for a warmer welcome but the wines there are really good the only downfall outside of the service was there were no options for a wine flight. All in all I give this place a 3 out of 5 stars

Stopped in for some wine before our dinner reservation. What a wonderful experience. The service was great, wine fantastic. Learned about Orange wine which was very educational.

The owner was very knowledgeable and we chatted for quite a while. Love that she sources as much bread, pastry and vegetables as possible from local farms and small companies. Antiques and atmosphere was great.

Will definitely be back. The puzzle challenges sound interesting.

Spent the afternoon here working. The staff and owner are extremely welcoming & kind. They had options outside of wine for those who do not drink: hand poured coffee & delicious food. A great atmosphere to study, work, read or hang with the friends!

This is a fantastic spot! My husband and I came in this evening and enjoyed glasses of wine and amazing charcuterie. We left with a few bottles of wine. Super thoughtful seating and service. I will definitely be frequenting this spot! A Petersburg gem. We are so happy we don’t have to drive to Richmond to enjoy a wine bar.

If Hemingway lived in Petersburg, you would find him here.

My wife and I visited with some friends for wine and light eats. We ordered a featured bottle (Côte du Rhône) and a charcuterie board to share. All of the wine is natural, which has better flavor and more character than what you buy at the grocery store. With a cork fee, it is more economical to buy a bottle and drink it there than buy four individual glasses, so buy the bottle. If you don’t finish it, you can always take it home. The charcuterie board offered a variety of quality delectables, along with a fresh baguette. A bottle and board split nicely between four persons. We also selected a lovely Pinto Noir from New Zealand for home. The wine selection is fantastic nodding to growing regions around the globe, including harder to find origins like Slovenia.

The atmosphere is that of a French-leaning European wine bar with a Petersburg twist. Walls are lined with art by locals and shelves containing books, arts supplies, and inevitably wine. Peruse a French travel guide or settle at a table to write or sketch. Don’t know anything about wine? Grab one of the wine books and learn more about what you are drinking and where it comes from. Sink into one of the cozy antique chairs and start your own mini salon with a friend.

Burgundie’s has a warm aesthetic. Balmy lights provide a soothing vibe combined with wood tones and a glorious copper bar. The furniture looks old without feeling old, lending to a sense that you are in a different time and place. It sounds like the Brian Ferry Orchestra, Agnes Obel, Ravel and Debussy.

Burgundie’s is in my Petersburg top five list already and a must for anyone visiting our little town. Perfect for poets, artists, date-nights and discussion groups. Get into Petersburg and get out of Petersburg at Burgundie’s.
