The place is great in an area where crowd can come. I had come here after two unsuccessful attempts with other restaurants which didnt have sashimi or seafood items. This was better than the others. If you are looking for teriyaki, tepanyaki, udon, fried rice – thats not available here. The food they have sashimi is ok than others but very limited. They have everything less items for the price they charge. The size of the sashimi is very small ..the entire plate can be the size of salmon sashimi in other cities.. I miss calgary all you can eat Japanese places for sure..Anyways, for the food the price is way too expensive..quality is ok..oh this is the first place I have had cold edamame..No other AYCE had it..its so odd and weird. anyways if anyone wants to spend money for less food you can try this..by the way if you love rice rolls , they have plenty. Anyway new experience ..there is always first time..this was my experience..You can have better ones…so please do try them..Best wishes to the team ..parking is difficult too..so look for all this.46$ plus taxes

I don’t like doing these types of reviews, but I can say that I had the worst experience since I moved to Thunder Bay at this restaurant. To begin with, we arrived and there was no one at the door, so we didn’t pay attention and grabbed a menu to check out the sushi rolls. However, just then, a waitress arrived who was a little rude and told us that we couldn’t check this one; you have to look at the virtual menu if you ar I don’t like doing these types of reviews, but I can say that I had the worst experience since I moved to Thunder Bay at this restaurant. To begin with, we arrived and there was no one at the door, so we didn’t pay attention and grabbed a menu to check out the sushi rolls. However, just then, a waitress arrived who was a little rude and told us that we couldn’t check this one; you have to look at the virtual menu if you are going to order to go. What we didn’t know was that on the page, you have to choose each item separately to see what each roll contains, which took us a while to place our order. We even asked for the menu just to see the ingredients, but they didn’t allow us to see it. We placed our order and were told it would take 30 minutes. To be honest, they weren’t busy. We ordered 9 rolls plus chicken and other items for a total of over $200. We went outside for 50 minutes and came back, but our order wasn’t ready. When we asked, the waitress responded that the delays were unexpected. The service was terrible. We waited another 20 minutes and finally received our order. We checked our order, and to our surprise, the chicken was cold. The response we got was that it was not hot, which we clearly knew and could see. At that point, we were already losing patience after spending almost an hour and a half for 9 rolls in a restaurant that wasn’t busy. It doesn’t make any sense. If you’re looking for sushi in Thunder Bay, I suggest you don’t go there.

Sushi is super fresh. Ordered off uber eats. I saw someone say the rolls don’t come with soy sauce so that was annoying I had to pay $2 for soy sauce. But the food was good

Obsessed!! The salmon was insanely fresh — literally melt-in-your-mouth good The vibes were immaculate: calm, cozy, and aesthetic in all the best ways. Staff were so sweet and made the whole experience even better. 10/10 will definitely be back!

Went tonight for a date with our baby. The server and hostess were very accommodating of baby sleeping in the car seat. We opted for the all you can eat option, which was $45 per person pre tax. Good quality fish with great taste. Nigiri had a lot of rice and fish cut thinly, and the rolls had tempura stuffed in with the fish, seemingly to stretch their fish supply and fill you up quickly. The sashimi was the highlight – too bad they only allow 10pcs per person of sashimi. The male who seemed to be the owner appeared baffled by the amount we ordered. Kept reminding us of the cost of rolls we do not eat, asking us if we were sure we wanted to order again. We ordered a total of maybe 60-75 pieces of sushi including our designated 10 pieces each of sashimi. At that point when my husband waved him down, he immediately offered to bring the check. I’m not sure why you would offer all you can eat when you’re not going to accept people that order all they could eat. He seemed relieved when my husband said yes to the check nice looking place, good ambiance, for the price this would be a once or maybe twice a year thing rather than going regularly. As we are from Toronto, we’re used to going once a month to a new spot at 25-40 dollars per person and not being limited by pieces of sashimi. I guess around these parts it’s not very popular so their ayce model differs to prevent losses.

Sushi 7 is seriously amazing! My friends and I showed up without a reservation, and even though it was packed, the staff was super nice and made sure to find us a spot we loved. The vibe is on point — it felt like we were drinking matcha tea right in the heart of Japan. I got the matcha tea, matcha cheesecake, Golden California sushi, and some tempura, and everything was so good. Plus, they refilled my tea four times, and I enjoyed every hot sip! The staff really made the experience, and I can’t wait to go back!

We loved our first experience at Sushi7 and we’ll be back! Great flavors, very delicious! We arrived at 6pm on a Friday without a reservation and waited about 15 minutes for a table for 2. Not a cheap meal, but definitely good quality/ you get what you pay for. Lots of variety on the menu. Excited to come back for AYCE when we’ve got more room for it.

I want to preface this review by saying that you cannot compare Sushi 7 or any sushi spot in Thunder Bay to the sushi spots in Toronto — it’s unfair and unrealistic to expect the same level of quality. That said, for Thunder Bay standards, Sushi 7 probably has some of the best sushi in the entire city.
I ordered 3 rolls on UberEats: Toronto Roll, Golden Dragon Roll, and Torched Fire Dragon Roll. The torched one was by far the tastiest due to the torching and the sauces on top of the roll. I found that the other two lacked flavour and raw fish but were still decent (and sounded more appealing than the other rolls on the menu). The sushi rice was truthfully a little under-seasoned and a bit hard in texture but that could’ve also been due to the delivery (drive in the cold). Though I wish they provided standard wasabi instead of the stuff in the packets, I was happy they provided ample pickled ginger upon request. Roll sizes were average — I would order 2 per person if you really want to be satiated.
The best part: The owners were super kind and included a handwritten note and crème brûlée on the house! The crème brûlée was really yummy (though very small so would only buy it if it’s a reasonable price). Regardless, I really appreciated the gesture and I think it’s awesome that the owners are doing what they can to make a positive impression on their customers!
All in all, if I were to have a sushi craving again, I would return to Sushi 7 to get my sushi fix in town.
