Its a relaxed quiet atmosphere. The food here is DELICIOUS made fresh daily. We specially like the fried rice. All of the sushi is on a conveyor belt that goes around the restaurant. The sushi here taste terrific, way better than other places I’ve had. I honestly rate Kai sushi a strong 10 outta 10.

I was in IL for work and sought out local cuisine. I only recently started to eat shrimp and found this local sushi and tried a few different things for experience. It was all delicious and I loved the experience. The staff was so friendly! I think I found my new favorite desert – tempura banana. 🙂 🙂

Sushi was fresh and tasty. Love that you just sit down and can start eating. We stopped in, ate our fill and were out the door in thirty minutes. For as much sushi as we had, pricing was not too bad.

Pretty good rotary sushi, reasonably priced, try to go when busy. They did start adding food when we arrived but I’m sure it’s better with more people. Polite waiter. No robots or machines that eat your plates like some places, but a chill vibe and decent food.

The retro vibe is great and deco is welcoming. The lunch special was not a fave or the revolving sushi that is changed every hour .We had a good salad and miso but tempura was not a fave- please ask clients if they like green peppers!
What we would return for would be a soccer game played on TV and the jalapeño poppers that were amazing plus beer.

Kai Sushi was a really pleasant experience. We had been here maybe in 2020 or 2021. We were nearby, so we decided to try it out again. I took pictures of the rolls we liked the most. The gyozas were good too! We liked the concept of being able to see and pick what we wanted to try. Our waiter was attentive. We went in right before the rush, so we did not have to wait for a table. Prices were normal for sushi.

Overall, this is not a bad place.
Here me out.
Been here a couple of times. My bf loves sushi. I would say I like it. Sooo a rotary sushi is not always my cup of tea.
The rotary can be a bit misleading with what it offers in variety. I think it depends what time you but if you look at the menu (you may need to ask for it) they do have a great variety. My bf seems to enjoy that.
I personally love their orange chicken
It’s the right level of spice for me. The main reason why I come here
I agree with another persons review about the fried stuff. The stuff on the rotary are not always fresh, you can just tell it’s been sitting out once you grab a bite so I recommend ordering it freshly made off the menu.
Price wise- I don’t think it’s outrageous. But it all depends how much you eat. So yeah if you come hungry hungry, I do think you’re looking at $30-50 per person.
If you’re hungry- $20-$30 is about right from my past visits.
The service is great and the atmosphere is pretty chill and charming in its own way.

Everything about our visit here was phenomenal. The dining room is clean and brightly lit. The food was very tasty. The prices are very reasonable. We had so much fun choosing our plates as the conveyor belt went around. And the service was above and beyond. I strongly recommend dining here.

This is a one and done for me for Kai Sushi. Definitely not 5 star quality. The quality here has more misses than hits. The black plates and the special orders are why I’m giving them one more star. I would not recommend getting any of the fried stuff like tempura and crab rangoon, they’ve been sitting out too long. The yellow plates are decent. Red and orange are like eh, you can tell they’re not fresh. Service was good. The place was mostly empty when we came for dinner. Prices are expensive for the mediocre quality you receive. You’re honestly better off going to Kitakata Ramen next door. You’ll save money and also get better food. However, if you are in the mood for conveyor belt sushi, I recommend making the trip to Chicago to go to Sushi Plus Rotary in Chinatown, not the Aurora one.

We got to try many of them that we wouldnt normally get . Everything was fresh and with care! Next time we come to chicago, we will be back! Definitely a must try for everyone!
