We had
Conch fritter: no comment because I never had them
Cesar salad with chicken: the chicken was dry probably because it was cooked ahead, the croutons came from a box no taste. the Parmesan was good and the dressing was ok. I missed the anchovies.
Key lime pie: my wife really liked it.
Rum cake: tiny for $16.
Bottle of wine $ 59
Total bill. $ 214. Including 20% tip that was included on bill. I prefer to give cash to the server.
The setting is beautiful but the food is underwhelming.

We ordered the bushwhacker cocktail and got the island chicken sandwich & chicken soup. They were all quite delicious. The service was good as well. We weren’t staying there, but still got to dine in. Sometimes they do need a reservation ahead for non-hotel guests.
The views are amazing btw. You’re basically sitting right in front of the beach.

Restaurant is not a typical beach bar as recent renovations has made the experience at the restaurant a chic hangout location..The menu is excellent and reasonably priced.
Excellent frozen drink selection and desserts.

A quiet weekday dinner in the off-season with amazing food and fabulous service right on the surf. What more could you want from a relaxing date night. The white meat of the chicken was a little dry, but the cream sauce solved that.

The onion rings!! Try them, they were the first thing I tasted, and when I did I realized what a good chef they have! You could bite thru the ring and it was tender and cooked perfectly. The glaze was so good, I have never had anything like them. Everything we ate was so good we kept going back. We stayed there at the Buccaneer, and I was surprised, some of the best food we had on St.Croix came from our hotel. They have excellent chefs!!!

Would not recommend. We arrived at 12:20 and the restaurant was not busy at all. Ended up getting our food (1 app, 1 fish sandwich, 1 virgin cocktail) 30mn later. I would normally don’t care but we happened to have to be somewhere else at 1:30. Dessert menu looked appealing but we did not order fearing it would take another 30mn. Food was alright but overpriced. I ordered conch fritters ($17 for 5 small fritters) and my husband ordered a mahi burger ($20 for subpar fries and dry looking bun). The open kitchen makes it loud when you sit on the deck. The staff was friendly enough but service wasn’t outstanding. I also think the fact that sending the waitstaff refill water and send food to guests on the beach contributed to the slowness or the service. The view was nice however and the Virgin pina colada was good.

Way over priced for average tasting food. The buccaneer resort is pretty expensive, and the food here is too.
The salmon was undercooked and needed to be sent back, and the Mahi was not near as good as other places we went to in town. Stay in Christiansted foe better food.

Dinner and a show. $43 for a salad and entree and fire dancers for entertainment. Mahi with mango chutney placed on a bed of risotto and a side of succotash. This is a Monday special.

Our best dinner was our last here at the Mermaid on the 4th of July. The food again was masterfully prepared. There was fire dancers to entertain everyone in this beautiful open-air beach-side restaurant. Reservations are a must since it fills up quick.

Would not go back. Sub par food. Even worse service. Took us an hour just to get food and never even got a refill on our drinks. They also automatically add a 20% gratuity which while this makes sense to an extent, this service was not worth it.
