Not a bad experience, but not a great one either. The catfish was good. Doesn’t get great service.. we ran out of drinks a few times and the kitchen couldn’t seem to catch up with making hush puppies, which is the complimentary bread option for the restaurant.

The only thing worth one star was that it was 1/2 price Senior night, and the service was good. The outside of the restaurant is pretty. Inside basic booths and tables. Hush puppies were over fried and dripping with grease. Fried catfish was not greasy but the fish was mushy. See the plate of fat LEFTOVER from 4 slices of brisket. The worst I have ever had! Tasted boiled. Cole slaw, baked beans, potato salad and collard greens came from a can.

My friend and I were on vacation for a few days and decided to eat lunch here. I ordered the brisket sandwich with sweet potato fries. It was the best tasting brisket sandwich I have ever had! Nothing anywhere else compares to it. I only want to vacation here again so that I can have lunch or dinner and order this sandwich again. It’s a must try!!! It was very reasonably priced too!

First.. I asked the waitress were the greens fresh or canned..she said fresh. They were not. The brisket was so greasy I couldn’t eat it. It started crusting up and turning dark before I could eat any. The Mac and cheese tasted like they made it a few days ago and just kept adding water. The brisket had 0 flavor. And I do mean 0. In the pics you can see what I left on the table. Took about 20 or more minutes to get food I just left there.. waitress only came by once to check on us… Smh. If your looking for “real” bbq. Do not go here.

The pulled pork was great. Sauce was great. Beans great. Fries good even though cold. Bad part…i ordered 2 cole slaws with a take out order did not get those in my bag. The mac and cheese looked and tasted burnt and reheated. We threw those away..not completely terrible. I would give it another chance.

One star for it being half price senior night! Brisket dinner was the worst we ever had! See the picture of the leftover fat from four slices of brisket. The catfish was mushy. The potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans and collard greens tasted like they came from a Sysco can. Hush puppies were over fried and hard as a rock. The Texas toast undercooked. It even looked like someone’s finger prints were in the bread. Sauces were all bland.

I’ve eaten here a few times since I live near it. A lot of potential with pluses being the selection on the menu and the atmosphere.
Unfortunately the food has never been anything more than mediocre. I’ve had the barbecue and the catfish and wish I could love it, since this is my kind of place, but have never found the food to be great. Just ok.
Service is friendly but slow. The hostess is usually never there so it takes a while to be seated and acknowledged.

It was just okay. Pulled pork lacked a lot of flavor without adding sauce. A lot pieces had charred (burnt) ends. The chicken breast was greasy with no seasonings. I can say the garden salad was a nice size portion & very tasty. The food was served on a metal tray with a paper which I have not seen since school cafeteria. I would pass on this restaurant if back this way.
