Paik’s Noodle is one of a few choices offered in the Ridgefield Hmart. They present the Korean-Chinese contingent of the cuisine in the food court, with familiar favorites such as black bean noodles and tangsuyyuk, a deep fried pork dish served with sweet and sour sauce. Both of these were part of my order during my most recent visit, and I was happily surprised at how many large pieces of pork belly I encountered in the dark, savory sauce.
The sweet and sour pork was served separate from the sauce even without my asking (sometimes other restaurants will serve it with the sauce already poured on, which makes the meat pieces lose their crunch rather quickly). The pork pieces had a unique and delicious chew in the crunch, as though there was rice flour used in the batter.
Seating is pretty plentiful, even during prime mealtimes. We’ve never had to wait for a table, and tables turn over pretty quickly.
Every Korean food court has its own system. Here’s how this one works –
Each kiosk’s menu and pick up window occupies its own space of the food court, but the actual ordering is at a common register that services the entire food court. There’s a number display by each window that alerts customers when their food is ready. After eating, you can bring your tray of dirty plates to the corner of the food court where an employee is likely on hand to help you clear and stack plates where they belong.

Lately I’ve been watching culinary wars, and I wanted to try this place out because of the show.
We got a P.1 and a p.7
The black bean noodles were really good for both of the dishes. The noodle was chewy and soft and the perfect texture. The meat was tender and the soup was delicious. The spice level and the soup was perfect. It wasn’t overwhelming and it had the right balance where it was enjoyable and kept me warm.

We had two versions of jjajiangmien, plain and chili. Simple, quick and hit the spot while shopping for K snacks. Good noodle texture, but a little cold, maybe because it is approaching closing time. Kitchen staff and the cashier were not the friendly bunch, but we don’t take these in consideration because after all, it was just a quick bite in. Supermarket. Nice to have it here!

Deep inside the Super H-Mart, it might be easy to dismiss Paik’s Noodle as a typical low quality food court restaurant but that would be a mistake. The jjamppong here is absolutely money and the deep broth and the spices warm me up during the winters. Tangsuyuk, or sweet and sour pork, can be a hit or miss as it comes out nice and crispy but sometimes they coat is too heavily. Jjajjangmyun is decent. The portion sizes are smaller compared to other Chinese-Korean restaurants but I prefer the taste here. Definitely worth swinging by during your visit to H-Mart!

We had regular Jjamppong and stir-fried Jjangmyeon noodle dishes. Both dishes were delicious and the portion was generous. The regular Jjamppong was spicy and included mussels, squid, sliced pork, and assortment of vegetables.

Jjambong was bland, jjajangmyun was “okay” portions were small. It’s one of the food court location inside Ridgefield H Mart, worth a try while you are there but not a must go.

It is a stall in the Hmart food hall. Food is reasonably priced fir what you get. Not a gourmet meal by any means but cheap eats either before or after a grocery run. Definitely worth a try.

Mediocre.
Got 2 x Jjajangmyun + 1 Sweet Sour Pork combo
Jjajang- portion small, a bit extra sweet but not by much (still good) but sauce is quite watery and noodle was too thick to absorb the flavor
Sweet Sour Pork – although sauce was served separately, there was zero sense of crunch on the Pork. Soft and chewy still. After dipping it in sauce it taste as if you poured the sauce on the pork a bit ahead of time. Tasted good but missing the crunch.
