The wait staff was attentive and the atmosphere was calming. I was very disappointed with the dinner and dessert. The focaccia bread was cold, hard and dry. I ordered the beef Wellington. The filet was very well done and the puff pastry just made it more dry. The steak my husband had was good but it was served with frozen shoe string fries that had little to no flavor. The menu said truffle seasoning. That was absent. The crème brûlée was decent. However, the blueberry special desert was a frozen dessert that was thawed. It had no flavor but freezer burn and the texture was off. We had high expectations that were no where near met.

My wife and I experienced a delicious dinner at La Fontaine Walnut Creek for our Anniversary! I had actually screwed up and made reservations for the actual day of our anniversary.But we were scheduled to attend a wedding that day. When I realized I had missed the actual reservation day, I called and the person who answered the phone happened to be the manager Lara who accommodated us immediately. She was “da Bomb”! A bit short staff, she took the.Reins and ran double duty as running the front of house and doubled as our server as well. Attentive, yet not overbearing at all, she was always there at the right time!
The main dish (Braised Short Ribs & Pistachio crusted Sole) were on point – rich and flavorful, the Arancini appetizer was amazing and the Chianti was an excellent pairing. Great service by Lara and cozy atmosphere — looking forward to our next visit!

The seafood risotto was a disappointment. The seafood was chunks inside the wet rice. For $46, I expect better quality. The presentation needs a lot of work. It looked like mixed rice with seafood on a plate. The risotto in general seemed like mushy rice mix and the taste wasn’t desirable. The other food was good.

Great atmosphere for casual drinks. Half of the restaurant setting like a bar, low armchairs with small tables. The food was good except the mussels in the Bouillabaisse may not at their freshest status. The portion however is very generous and the waitress was kind enough to ask the kitchen to split the food to two plates and at half portion, the size is adequate for a normal meal. At the same time we ordered Grill octopus as appetizer and it tasted great but at $24 price tag, we only got with one leg. I would say that was too small portion for the price. So we have mixed feelings about whether this is a restaurant we should be eager to visit again.

Enjoyed La Fontaine in Walnut Creek for the first time, for delivery, and it was a standout!!
The Caesar salad was perfect -balanced chef made dressing, flavorful, not heavy, and not too salty. The polenta was creamy, smooth, light and perfectly seasoned.
The crème brûlée was excellent: not overly sweet, silky custard. I honestly think the Caesar salad and dressing, polenta, and the crème brûlée are one of the best.
We also had the bruschetta, and the tomatoes weren’t too acidic — paired well with the parmesan.
Also, the soft focaccia bread that came with our order was delicious- not too heavy or salty.
I can’t wait to visit in person and try more dishes!! 🙂

Came here for a Thanksgiving dinner with family and enjoyed both the food and service. The atmosphere is modern and very clean. I had the steak and frites; delicious. My family enjoyed their entrees as well. The dessert were amazing and if I could eat them all, I would. Highly recommend this place.

I knocked off a few points because knowledge of the wine list / taste characteristics seemed rather lacking (I had to return a glass of wine, which I HATE to do) but that wouldn’t keep me from coming back.
There’s a fun mix of restaurant, lounge, and bar seating. Recommend for a cozy family dinner, drinks with friends, and anything in between.

We had a nice intimate valentine’s dinner. Good ambiance with dim lights. My boyfriend enjoyed a glass of their smoked old fashioned and the beef wellington. Definite must try. I had a glass of the basil lemon drop, only thing i’d say is that the stem of the glass it was served in was sticky perhaps from the syrup on the rim. I ordered the pistachio crusted lambchop which was also good. Excellent side of roasted potato and forgettable veggies. Overall, we had a delicious dinner here.
