Happy to find another Chinese spot in Missouri City. I’d also heard of this place as they have multiple locations so was eager to try. I got the twice cooked pork and soup dumplings this first time, and everything was really good. Next time I may request for the pork to be sliced thicker, but as I expected it was incredibly savory and flavorful. The soup dumplings were milder but delicious and hearty. I also got the Fuji Apple sparkling which was very refreshing. Service was prompt and friendly.

The food was prepared carefully, tasted good, and was fresh. The waitresses were attentive without being annoying. They patrolled back and forth and we didn’t need to speak to get what we needed. The entire experience felt effortless and delightful from the moment we entered. We felt warm and welcoming about service. We’ll come back soon.

I visited Cooking Girl – Missouri City for the second time, and it was just as pleasant and satisfying as the first! The atmosphere was relaxing with soothing piano music playing through the overhead speakers, adding to the overall experience. From the decor to the service to the food quality, everything was excellent.

We ordered a chicken lo mein, salt and pepper fish with peppers and onions, dry fried green beans. The food came out hot and fresh, and you could really taste the high quality of the ingredients. The basil chicken and mango pepper beef were also absolutely delicious and fantastic. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

Regarding to the owner’s response to my previous comment. I have no idea about how is the portion issue related to what the owner said by she would recommend me to order orange chicken and beef next time if I want to have all meat dishes – Regardless what dishes I ordered, the portion of the dish itself (not the ingredients) should be at least enough to eat, especially when each dish costs about $20 on average. Well, if I have to go with what you said, then I would like to point out another dish that I had: the salt & pepper squid. Do you know how many pieces of squids are there in total? Do you know I have left with most of the pepper and onions after I just picked up a few pieces of squids? Thus, since you have named the dish ‘seafood tofu’, shouldn’t there be more seafood than tofu?

Very disappointed with Cooking Girl. The portion sizes are extremely small, and the dishes are full of vegetables instead of meat , totally not worth the price.
I ordered the seafood tofu, but it was with barely any seafood at all. The salt and pepper squid had only a few tiny pieces of squid, it was overloaded with raw onions and green peppers and the Hunan style pork was mostly chili peppers, as you can see from my photo, after finishing the meat, I still had half a box of peppers left!
I spent over $60 and still left hungry. This is ridiculous. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. I’m literally about to cook some pasta now because I’m still hungry!

Super dissapointed with our visit to this cooking girl location. I had heard many good things but unfortunately it was a let down. I’ll start with the food. We were the only ones in the restaurant which was fine but we ordered our food and it came out within a couple minutes. Now I don’t like to complain about fast service but this was too fast. The food came before our drinks did and we ordered drinks first. The food had to have been pre-made for and it definitely tasted like it had been pre made. The fried rice had barely and flavor and tasted like it was at least a day old. It was like it had been reheated and served to us. Unfortunately the rest of the food was exactly the same. The restaurant itself is nice and decorated nicely and clean, however the waitress was visibly sick. She was coughing all over the place, sneezing, wiping her nose and she really did not look well. She needed to be home, not serving food and drinks to people. We were just hoping that she would not pass anything on to us but unfortunately that was not the case. The next day we all started to come down with a flu and were very sick for a week. It was awful!

There were two waitresses and between them, they would come to the table every couple minutes asking if we needed anything. It was non stop. We couldn’t wait to get out of there.
Definitely won’t be returning to this location.

I wish we lived nearer to this restaurant, it was excellent. The staff was very kind and the perfect level of attentive. The food was delicious, very fresh, and perfect if you’ve been looking for more vegetables.

We had: sparkling lychee, scallion pancakes, lunch special kung pao chicken (we chose meat egg roll and wonton soup), cauliflower pot (pork belly!), and bok choy.

The scallion pancakes were deliciously crispy, the meat egg roll was excellent, and the wonton soup was the best we’ve had. The filling of the wontons was literally perfect. The kung pao chicken was flavorful and full of fresh veggies, but not as spicy as we expected. It may have been because we asked how spicy it would be, and they went easy on us with the chilies.

The cauliflower pot was delicious. It was a pork belly dish. The meat was thinly sliced and tender, the veggies were fresh and perfectly cooked, and the cauliflower was tender and lightly browned like the perfect oven roasted cauliflower.

The bok choy was one of those simple dishes that is somehow better than the sum of its ingredients. The plate was piled high with bright green, tender baby bok choy glazed in flavorful cooking liquid. It was perfectly seasoned but the fresh green springtime flavor of the bok choy was the star.

The sparkling lychee was refreshing and full of fresh lychee pulp. The tap water was good, no off putting flavors. The steamed rice was fluffy and easy to pick up with chopsticks.

The interior was clean and modern, and had a nice neutral smell. There were no off smells, and no air freshener or strongly scented cleaners that I could detect, so it should be safe for people with asthma, COPD, allergies, etc.

I will definitely be back here many times despite the drive. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Edited to add: I found the portions to be generous. We had a filling lunch, and took home enough leftovers for dinner.

First time trying Cooking Girl in Sienna Plantation, and it did not disappoint! I had the classic General Tso’s chicken, and the Mala fries (not French fries, but absolutely delicious). Linda got the ‘hot diving fish’ (fish with green chili and cucumber) and fried tofu with garlic sauce – all fantastic. Portions were generous, and we even had leftovers for tomorrow. The customer service was excellent. We can’t wait to come back and explore more of the menu!

Ordered through door dash, the quality of the good looked nice but the sesame chicken was way too salty. Walnut shrimp smelled rotten… I really wanted to like this spot. Sweet and sour soup was good.
