Great portions and prices. I was a fan of the boneless ribs appetizer. I also liked how the combinations offered fried rice and came with an egg roll. So many places now charge extra for fried rice and it doesn’t come with an egg roll. Reminds me Chinese takeout as a kid.

Hot and sour soup was great, above on the heat scale. Crab Rangoon was good/average. Steamed dumplings tasted freezer burned. Shrimp chow mein was great 4 star. Dry noodles were fresh and good.

I’m visiting a friend who lives close to this restaurant. So, I ordered takeout from here for lunch today, and it was a pleasant experience. Although I was disappointed that they didn’t serve ‘Honey Walnut Shrimp,’ I decided to try something new. I was bit hesitant after reading the mixed reviews, but, the food was actually pretty good.
I ordered the Shrimp & Broccoli lunch combination and some Crab Rangoons. The main meal was good. The Crab Rangoons, however, were a bit lackluster, but still enjoyable enough that I finished all of them.
Overall, the food was not only tasty but also reasonably priced. If you’re close by and looking for a quick and affordable lunch, this place is worth a try.

Tonight I had my first taste of Chinese food here in North Carolina as I just moved here from New York a month and a half ago. I was a little skeptical and looked at several Chinese food establishments, read the reviews and decided on Lai Lai Express. My daughter treated me and told me to order whatever i wanted. I was pleasantly surprised as the food was fresh and delicious. In NY there was only one place I knew of,ordered from and loved there bourbon chicken and decided to order it from here. It was different from NY as it had mushrooms and onions but I absolutely loved it. My daughter ordered the same in addition we ordered Chinese donuts and egg rolls. My granddaughter loved the chicken wings. The white rice was delicious as it was sticky rice I believe. The portions were big for the price. I would definitely recommend Lai Lai Express!
