Finally a place where you can put some south in your mouth! Catfish cooked just right and the loads of shrimp you can choose from. Reminds me of Louisiana just right. Great staff and good selections to fit any budget. No big truck parking around.

The food was alright. Even the fries are spicy. It was expensive for the portions but the staff was nice and they brought refills when we could get their attention. The restaurant is roomy and has lots of tables and booths. The were a lot of varieties of seafood dishes. We brought the whole family but I think this would also be a nice date night place.

I can’t believe I did not know of this place.
We happened to be in El Reno and stumbled upon Sam’s Southern Eatery. The food is amazing. Portions are big. I had to actually leave with a to go and that is rare for me. Great price too. I got the fish, shrimp and chicken. Best I have had in a long time. Wife does eat seafood so she got the philly sandwich and she loved it. A very clean environment and waitstaff is very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be driving the extra miles to come to El Reno more often just to eat at this place.

I had dinner here tonight and shared with a friend, both of us were impressed. the gumbo was spicy and thick served with a crisp fried roll that was hot and fluffy inside not heavy with grease like most fried foods. He got the Talapia plate with big fresh fillets with light crisp fried breading and tender flaky fish. The hush puppies were full of flavor and not greasy at all. the red beans and rice were spicy and full of flavor and just the right amount of rice to beans.
The service was attentive and the restaurant is clean and has plenty of parking and seating, they had quite a few take out orders while I was there but I was surprised it wasn’t more crowded as good as it was. I hope more people find this little gem of a restaurant they deserve to be very busy. I don’t usually like fish or fried food because most restaurants over cook it and leave it dripping in grease, but these guys know how to do it right!

My wife and I ate there for the first time today I have to say it was great. When they say jumbo shrimp they mean jumbo. The service was good and timely. I will be going back for sure. Having lived in El Reno my whole life we have been needing some new restaurants for a while now.

if i could give this place 0 stars i would…and that’s being generous. i was very impressed with other locations of the same name. part of the reason was because my whole catfish was breaded so thick and fried so hard that the fish was mush on the inside. the fried green tomatoes were good but that’s about it and i had to ask for them to be fried hard.

Staff was polite as long as all they had to do was take my order. They began getting rude when i asked them to warm up the cold mashed potatoes or look at the half cooked catfish and when i had to ask for a knife to cut through the shrimp. I dont think i should say anything about the food because i was barely able to eat it.
