First time eating at this place and was a little disappointed.
First off the service was slow, lots of running around but no one visited our table for 10 minutes. When we eventually ordered my drink took into the starter to get there. After we got the food, some of the food did not come like coleslaw and rye bread. Only to be told they don’t do it anymore or not ready even though it lists it on the menu.
The fish was tasty and seasoned well. Sometimes too well as there was a whole garlic clove in the mashed potatoe.
We will not be doing here again, next time culvers for taste and better service. Where the menu does not lie.

Incredible experience and food. Table starters were garlic herb cheese, cheese curds, crackers and sardines. Also had pumpernickel bread. I got the burger which felt like half pound, the fries were excellent. Might have been the best French onion soup I’ve ever had, flavorful. The steaks aren’t necessarily cheap but it was the best $14 burger I’ve ever had, and would have been happy paying $20.
The gentleman serving us had a great mood and was very friendly.

Food was very good. From soup and salad bar to fettuccine alfredo with chicken and a filet mignon.
Only complaint there was steak was pretty rare for ordering medium well. Not the end of the world though. It was fine.
The service from our waitress was excellent! Jennifer did an outstanding job!
My only complaint is with the establishment staffing I guess. They should definitely have a busboy or gal. All the waitresses were hopping and doing a great job. The problem is all the time they have to spend clearing tables while taking orders and serving people. Most places have someone to bus tables. It makes things go so much smoother in a restaurant.

Drinks are cheaper than most in the area. Before the meal they brought out crackers, pickled herring, dip and cheese curds. I love all their included appetizers. We got bruschetta, which was about 6 small pieces of bread but was good for $10. I ordered walleye and it was wonderful with crispy breading and it barely even fit on my plate. Asparagus was well cooked. I’ve come here a few times and I’ve never had anything bad to say about it. Will be coming back again.

If I could give negative stars I would I’m a local here I went out for dinner on Friday the food was just ok, but our server was terrible, But here’s the part that drove me to write this review. The waitress was not satisfied with her 11.7% tip(warranted due to her lack of service and still above the typical bad service tip of 10% as cited via Google pictures in my review) so she committed credit card fraud ran my card twice for two different amounts then gave a partial refund on smaller charge to affectively giving herself a 23.3% tip. (Which is beyond what is considered the base line for excellent service)

Did not have more than an hour to find out how the food was. Service just to greet us (4) took awhile. Placed a drink order and did not get back to the table for sometime. Then only received two of the four drinks and needed the waitress have to get ice-cream to help make the two drinks and only one needed ice-cream.
In the mean time another table had been seated ordered drinks, meals and received service of drinks and meals before we had been asked what we wanted to order for food.

Had an amazing time and pretty good dinner last night. This is definitely a place to go for location rather than actual food quality. The staff was AMAZING! Jill, Alexis and Carry (sorry if I misspelled any names) were all made sure we had the greatest time.
The onion soup was my absolute favorite part of the meal.

My husband and I decided to try the fish fry one night, we had never been there before. The fish was excellent, cooked perfectly. I had the cod battered and my husband had the seafood sampler. His was disappointing. The pieces of fish were so small, the fries looked like potato peels that were scraped off the floor. He tried the clam chowder and it had way too much dill. I also had a baked potato that wasn’t quite done. I am a coleslaw and tartar sauce connoisseur and both were horrible. Slaw was fluorescent green and tasted terrible and tartar sauce would choke you with dill. I think your chef needs help.

The food was amazing. I had the baked french onion soup and the smoked ribs and my husband had the salad and the 14oz. ribeye steak. The soup on it’s own is a meal and I would drive the 2.5 hour trip again just to eat that soup. The death by chocolate cake dessert is delicious. Our server, Kari, was friendly, had a good sense of humor, and made the meal worth every penny.

We came here because this place made it in the “Best” of paper. However, this place was hardly that. The service was slow (I had to get up twice to get attention. One to order drinks and the other when we were ready to pay our bill). The crackers and variety of dips that come with the meal was not great. Ritz crackers and some disgusting smoked trout or something? The dinner rolls looked like something that came in a dinner roll bag from Walmart. We ordered the bruschetta (it was mediocre). Our dinner salads were good, but again nothing special. We ordered them with ranch dressing because that is the only one made in house. The other dressings are premade. We ordered a bloody mary and a cocktail off of the drink menu (that we also had to ask for). The cocktail was decent and the bloody mary wasn’t. I ordered salmon for dinner and my husband ordered ribs. I could have cooked the salmon better myself at home. Hardly any flavor or seasoning. The carrots looked they were frozen baby carrots? My husband said that he didn’t even want to finish the ribs. He ordered it with fingerlings and carrots. We left all the carrots on our plates. One taste of them was enough. Honestly, if this place were cheap I wouldn’t have minded a wildly mediocre meal. However, if I am paying $100+ for dinner then I expect quality. We won’t be back. Save your money and go to a place where the food quality matches the sticker price.
