SOK’S Bar & Grill opened in November 2012 by long-time South Hadley resident Sokharun “Sok” Yim. Sok worked in the bar / restaurant industry for many years and always wanted a place of his own. He wanted a place with good food, friendly staff and an atmosphere that is welcoming to all. Sok’s cousin Davy Tob took over operations in 2017 and became co-owner in 2021. We’ve come a long way since 2012 and now feature ramen noodles, rice bowls and our prime rib special on Wednesdays have been a town staple. Cheers to all the customers that make SOK’S what it is today.

Little hole in the wall place, bar atmosphere, not clear what to do when you enter. Once we sat, things took a significant upturn. The service was friendly and attentive, the food was incredible. I had the tonkotsu ramen, my husband had the pork belly tacos. The pork was cooked perfectly in both dishes. The music playing ranged from country to MIA. Once we caught the vibe it was a cool place, but I see how it could be off-putting if you don’t think of it more as a bar than a restaurant (especially the lack of signage about whether to seat yourself or not). Overall, we really liked it, I would encourage you to give this place a chance. Plenty of parking in back, very clean, everyone there was really nice once we were sitting. If you think of it as a nice bar that happens to have a large and upscaled food menu, rather than thinking of it as a restaurant that serves alcohol, you will have a much better time.

Needed to update this after eating here a few times. The food remains awesome. BUT the service is not great. For whatever reason, they just aren’t very friendly and slow to take orders, etc. Only one good bartender that I have seen. So, be advised, the food is totally worth it, but don’t expect to feel especially welcome. Here’s my original review.
This was absolutely OUTSTANDING. I am so upset with myself that I didn’t go sooner. Not much to look at from the outside but the inside is light and roomy. BUT THE FOOD!!! This was an amazing meal. Completely unexpected. They have this kind of Asian inspired remix that includes some traditional Japanese food, Mexican and American. Wife had a rice bowl and it was delicious. I tried it, and it was great, and I am not someone who would ever order something like that. I had the Davy Udon (I think that’s what it was called) and it was unbelievably flavorful, with just enough spice to make it hot, but not make you sweat hot. But the highlight has to be the crab Rangoons. Don’t be stupid. Get them. Service was great, place is clean and the cops are right across the street. My wife thought it was one of the best meals she had in a long time! And I understand they just started opening for lunch. See you there!

We went in for the Wednesday prime rib meal special .we were meeting the guys after golf. I had never been to Sok’s before but our friends had and just couldn’t say enough great things about it. They were ever impressed with the owner of sok’s.. He’s doing a great job. All the employees are very friendly and all about making the customers happy. Better still the food is super delicious. We didn’t know that in order to get the prime rib dinner you need to order ahead of time like the day before . The waitress had said they had no more. But the owner came by a few minutes later and asked is everything already we said no jokingly. He was very concerned and asked why ,we told him we had wanted prime rib he told us I can get that for you. Boy were we happy. He apologized that the waitresses was misinformed and they did still have prime rib left. We ordered it . Had it with mashed potatoes and zucchini and Squash veg . Others at the table went for the shrimp Lo main. I had to try it and it was fresh made from scratch. Absolutely the best lo main I’ve ever had. Very happy with this experience here at Sok’s and you will be too. It has limited seating but it’s is worth the wait. 2 Thumps Up. Go and injoy this Jewel in South Hadley .

Atmosphere is dope, big bar, nice comfortable seating. You can see the cooks in the kitchen making your amazing meal! They close at 2 am most days and they also have a nights menu for food at night until 1am!!! I had the BEST burger last night. Thank you!!

I rated the food a five, but I did not eat here. Beer was my dinner so I guess I’ll consider that as my food for the evening. This was our first time here, and man did we have a blast! The young woman bartender was very nice and made us feel right at home. The other customers (at the time) around the bar were hilarious! Lots of laughs. I’m definitely coming back here!
