Today I got to try the Vietnamese Sandwich with the Vietnamese Coffee. The sandwich was packed and with great taste. However, the Vietnamese Coffee was just too sweet for me. A person sitting at the same table as me had advised me that the coffee taste really good without the sugar, so I will be trying it again with no sugar next time.
The husband and wife working here are very sweet people. They are very friendly and helpful.

Good sandwiches at a very reasonable price. Not sure if the two working there were father and son, but they were working non-stop. Steady number of phone orders and people walking in.
No frills shop with counter seating and small tables. More of a grab-n-go type spot.
I ordered 2 sandwiches (bbq beef & roast pork) and was told it was going to be about 15 mins. The bread was toasted nicely with a good crunch that won’t cut up your mouth.
The bbq beef was some sort of ground beef that was made into a patty then sliced up in strips with the standard vegetables, not quite what I expected, but not bad.
The roast pork was a bunch of cooked shredded pork and the standard vegetables, also not bad.
$21 after tax for 2 sandwiches, cheap for the island.

I was looking forward to trying No Name as it’s an old establishment and one of the common suggestions for best banh mi on island, but it wasn’t as satisfying as I’d hoped. It looked like house made bread which was lovely with great crust texture, but the sandwich size was noticeably much smaller than the average banh mi. I got the Vietnamese Special which had pork and pate, and while it definitely had lots of pate, it just wasn’t super flavorful to me overall and was pretty chunky. It also didn’t have sliced jalapeño inside which I thought was the norm, but maybe you have to ask for it here. The chili sauce they give you is quite flavorful although not very spicy. For ~$13 I guess I was hoping for more!

Was really craving a bbq pork sandwich/banh mi so called this place on a whim and got takeout for the beach. Only thing is the menu photos that some people have posted are out of date, as they have raised the prices so cheapest sandwich is $10+tax. Took 15 minutes before it was ready, but it did hit the spot in the end. And I added a good view!

This ghetto looking place is hidden in plain sight, next to Ace Hardware on Waialae Ave.
It’s an underrated restaurant with an interesting name, No Name Sandwich… lol. It’s crazy good for its simple focus on quality banh mi sandwiches. The cilantro, sweet onions, house sauce, and BBQ pork or beef make these sandwiches so good. I’ve even seen a tourist literally buy and eat a sandwich in the restaurant, then minutes later go up to order another one. This time, I purchased and tried the meatball sandwich. It was good and savory, and it paired well with the sweet onions and the toasted French bread. For $9.99, it was worth it.
Heads up, the restaurant is pretty popular, with many people calling in their orders instead of ordering in person. I highly recommend calling ahead to order and pick up when it’s ready.
The restaurant’s exterior and interior don’t look like much, but it doesn’t matter when you have delicious sandwiches. I highly recommend you try this place once… you’ll come back again and again.

Split a BBQ Beef and Vietnamese Sandwich with my girlfriend and they were excellent. Very authentic Vietnamese banh mi (I wish we had this still back where I live) and the family that owns the restaurant were very friendly. Thank you for the meal and happy new year!

This place is clean for this area. I like the bubbles on the bread and all the cilantro and greens they put on the sandwich. Everything else is just alright. I ate half immediately and it was alright, so I wrapped it up and ate the rest later, but it was so much worse I couldn’t finish it. You have to eat these fresh or it gets hard and rubbery, and tough to chew

Best BBQ pork banh mi sandwich!! They make everything fresh to order. Bread is crispy and airy, meat is tender/flavorful/not overtly sweet with pickled onions. We got ours with extra meat! AND YOU MUST EAT IT WITH THEIR HOMEMADE HOT SAUCE! It is potent and will make you sweat and want for more!! Recommend to call to order if you don’t want to wait there. I’ve always ordered at the counter and then go next door and get a coffee while waiting the 10-15 mins. You can also request them to cut the sandwich in half and ask for utensils (chopsticks) if needed (since all the meeeeaat would fall out as you eat.)

Fantastic Bahn Mi! Cook came out to ask how we liked it, so they really give a darn. No problem with special requests, and they have Thai peppers for those who can handle them! About $13 per person.
