The food is good, the prices are fair, and the service was okay. We stopped by here after a long train ride to New Orleans. It was walking distance from the hotel. I forgot the server’s name, but she was a young girl with a thick Cajun accent. She was friendly.

I’ve driven by this place for over 40 years and finally stopped in. Glad we stopped. Good service good food. Taco Tuesday was fabulous. Three delicious tacos for $12. I got shrimp my friend got chicken. Love the $3 beer

I really think this place should be named Causeway Grill & Bar, because while it is a bar, the food is AMAZING! I stopped in for food at noon on Mardi Gras Day 2026 and I was incredibly impressed! The staff (both front of house and back) were incredibly nice, and the owner was very welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere was perfect: TVs throughout with different programming on each, music playing but not loud, a variety of people interacting/having a great time, and the place was spotless. But enough about all that: the food is superb! While the menu does state the many items are homemade, make no mistake: everything is homemade and everything is delicious! We could tell (and I could see) that the food was fresh, not frozen. The quality of the food is what makes this place more of a restaurant to me, but the bar is the centerpiece and it’s a lot of fun. I HIGHLY recommend!

Truly enjoyed this little bar & grill way more than I thought I would, exceeded my expectations! Food was delicious, but the service was outstanding. Carmel was phenomenal and even the sweet chef checked to make sure we were taken care of. You feel like you’re family when you walk in here and we just wished we had this back home. Highly recommend, especially if you’re staying in the Hampton Inn because it’s just a hop and a skip away.

I finally decided to stop in and try the food here. The sign out front made me curious. What exactly is eggplant gravy? Smoking area in a covered area in front of the bar. This is exactly the kind of place I would frequent when I was drinking. A kind of hole in the wall place with working class clientele. I didn’t work up the nerve to ask about the eggplant gravy. I did order the bacon cheeseburger, fully dressed and fries. It was pretty darn good. Friendly employees. There are gambling machines, a dartboard, one of those claw machines, a shuffleboard. There were several televisions on and all playing different sports balls games. The parking lot is kind of tricky. If you park in front, the only way out is via Causeway just south of Veterans where the traffic is all together to filter back on Causeway, or the service road and I-10. So be aware of your surroundings.

We were in town for the weekend and stumbled upon this gem of a bar. We had so much fun that we came in Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday for lunch before we headed home to Alabama. Great staff, great food, great drinks, great atmosphere! We loved the meatballs and red gravy so much that we bought some to bring home with us!!! We also tried the bacon cheeseburger and grilled chicken sandwich and they were both excellent. Love that they dress everything with fresh veggies grown on site! Carmel was so much fun and she is great at her job! Her bubbly personality is contagious! Mark was so nice and really makes the place feel like you have been coming there forever. We will definitely come back next time we are in town!!

It’s like finding your favorite local pub in London. The food was spectacular (we ate it before I could take a photo! Wine was beyond reasonable with some respectable choices ($7.50 for Josh).
We ordered the meatballs (beyond delicious) and the nachos (yes please). They said the egg rolls were the most popular item, so we had to try those also. They were my least favorite- a little blah to me – but everyone else loved them… so maybe it’s me, Egg Roll, not you.
If you love a good dive bar like me… don’t miss this place.
