This place has good reviews for a reason. They have a great menu with variety suitable to all persons. My husband and I both loved our sushi roll. For the quality of the ingredients and the flavor profile I felt that the price point was spot on. It was also decorated super cute for Christmas, which I appreciated. We definitely recommend this place whether you’re a local or a tourist.

Quiet atmosphere with quick service and food up quick. I love their sushi it’s so good!! I got a poke bowl and the spicy salmon and it was good. The cuts of fish are so big it was a little rough for me texture wise but still good. I also wasn’t a fan of the poke salmon in my bowl. It was chewy and had a really weird texture which may have been due to the bigger chunks, I’m not sure. The bread pudding was super good.

Local Boy Sushi – A Poke Bowl First to Remember!
Having been on island for a while, I finally tried my first poke bowl—and wow did Local Boy Sushi set the bar high! The locally caught ahi was incredibly smooth and fresh, practically melting in my mouth. I also sampled their salmon poke, which was equally delicious, and the eel—flavorful, tender, and perfectly seasoned—tied it all together. If every poke bowl from here on out is even half as good, I’m in for a great ride!
My wife ordered the Kailua pork nachos and immediately gave them a 20 out of 10. The pork was unbelievably tender and packed with flavor. What really impressed us were the nachos themselves—crispy, fresh, and nothing like those bland, store-bought chips. Add in the sweet chili sauce drizzle and you’ve got a dish that’s crave-worthy.
Absolutely worth the stop—Local Boy Sushi nailed it!

For lunch, my friend and I stopped by to have some rolls. They had a fairly good selection of sushi and rolls, and since the reviews were quite high, we expected to really enjoy it. Honestly, we were disappointed. The food did not meet my expectations at all. The rice was cooked incorrectly — it didn’t taste like properly prepared sushi rice. I ordered a shrimp tempura roll, but I feel like I barely saw any shrimp inside, maybe just a tiny piece. It wasn’t tasty. I also want to mention that the wasabi and soy sauce were not good at all. I have plenty to compare with since I’ve eaten sushi in many different places. It’s fine if you just want a quick bite and don’t have many options, but I don’t think I’d want to come back — maybe only as a last resort.

We just had lunch here and it was great. The LBS box was very filling with a tasty mix of fish delicacy and artful rolls. Prepared fresh and easy to eat. Negri and sushi rolls were well placed in a neat little box with big flavors.

Great place for Poke Bowls or sushi. The guy who took our order was super friendly, super helpful, had great energy. And super patient as we tried to figure out our order. In the end we ordered the Lava Bowl and Spicy Tuna custom bowl. They were great. So great, I went back and ordered the Tsunami bowl. Can’t go wrong with any of them. Pictured is my Lava Bowl and then my Tsunami bowl. My wife already finished her Spicy Tuna bowl
