Drinks are very syrupy (not balanced) and the staff doesn’t seem to care that much due to the 20% default tip.
Food was good but very over priced for the portions. World’s tiniest udon for $18 – in any costal city you could get a huge bowl of udon but here you get a tiny taste.

Management adds a 20% tip to all bills. I live in the area and love all the restaurants, so I never minded this until I received horrible service from the bartender at Kumo and was automatically charged the added 20%. I sat at the bar and had a colleague join me later. My colleague was completely ignored, to the limit I couldn’t believe this is the service at a highlands bar. I felt horrible for having recommended this bar. Food is great, cocktails are great as well, service can be inconsistent despite the manager usually stopping by at the beginning to say hi. Maybe he should stop by at the end too!
